Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment have announced that Star Trek Online players will be able to create their own Discovery-era Federation Captains and work through a multi-part adventure with Starfleet Academy Cadet Sylvia Tilly. Till will be voiced by her Discovery actress Mary Wiseman. The first chapter will introduce a new Discovery tutorial, two episodes, new Reputation Tiers, a new Task Force Operation and other quality of life improvements.

For the Discovery content introduction into Star Trek Online however this happened last year with season one to an extent. Even with the short video, the two main ships have already been introduced, of course through gambling methods, & the other will be the highly anticipated Discovery Klingon Bird-of-Prey which will probably be acquired by gambling as well. I'm expecting more coherent Discovery content introduced though with this reintroduction. Cryptic has already stated there will be at least two new in-game missions & I think a beginning ship Focused on this Discovery story line so it looks to be a fuller play-through compared to the Jem'Hadar abbreviated "season". Some in-game have speculated & stated in chats that the reason the Jem'Hadar content was so short was to shift creative resources for this Discovery content.
Oh well wait & see with fingers crossed that Cryptic doesn't muck it up too much.
the jem hadar season was short because the creative director changed.
I watched a Star Gate Universe review the other day and the guy was saying how universe only lasted two seasons because they had alienated their fan base, they said they were interested more in attracting new viewers. The problem was they had hit that sweet spot in which it was too different for fans and had too many references to the series for new viewers to get into. This seems to be a Hollywood trend as the same was done with Star wars, and now Star Trek.
It will be interesting to see what they do with Capt. Picard. Till then I'm pretty much sticking with watching The Orville.

SGU was a complete headache show inserting drama and intrigue. I thought pat stew has control on the picard show direction that's why he agree to be on board, and also the ceo of cbs also has changed because of the sexual allegation, pretty much it depends on the new ceo decisions. shrug.
That makes some sense too given the timing of it all. I know recently Cryptic has made more positive announcements, imho, compared to negative announcements about STO. Thanks for the insight, vegetableoil!

Your so right about this. Its basically a game for whales now. All they care about is milking money from fans that have no place to go for Star Trek and they know it. They keep added rep.grinds as content with a few new episodes. Only suckers keep playing this game. People spend thousands of dollars in this game.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Please folks, if you get enough people to stop logging in for the sake of both the game and the Star Trek IP as a whole it might send a message to them that they are doing something the entire fan community is against and it might just make them remove the content at the very least.
This is a message from an original lifetimer who bought his lifetime membership before the game launched. I'm not some hack that just joined the game only to call for a boycott.
LOL for better or worse that is hilarious & one I have to remember.
Yes The Orville is fantastic
It seems, to me, at least with the last couple of Cryptic content releases is that they might be focusing on smaller packages of content in hopes of having more announced releases throughout the year. I'm not a fan of quantity over quality but I realize there has to be a balance. Part of a ruse to entice players to pay more for less.
Even with ship releases the last couple of times Cryptic is only offering Fed & KDF neglecting Rom versions, but to be fair to Cryptic they lessened the price for the only two ship pack a bit too. I'll give Cryptic a pass a couple of times on any Jem'Hadar version since their ships were just released like you mentioned just a few months ago.
In a side note, dang the last couple of weeks one can tell a significant drop in the playerbase when online, but then again academics takes over & no BIG event for players to salivate for.
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
