OK didn't expect that a month out from Blizzcon. I wish them all the best in their new endeavors.

Time to spend some of the millions...

    A wise move.

After 27 years, that's pretty much hitting retirement age anyway. I wish him all the best. :)

I wonder if this also means broader changes in Blizzard...

So Morhaime will remain with the company as an "advisor". Hmmm that anything like being an outside consultant?

Adivsor is a smart move as he will have some say over what direction everything goes. Stan Lee did it and helped maintain the integrity of the franchise. George Lucas didn't do it and SWs went all over the place even though he would drop by to offer advice.

Makes it seem like the Diablo announcement is going to be really big. Big enough to warrant a changing of the guard. Good or bad.

    I've got the straight edge.

I have a feeling we might not like this year's blizzcon announcements.....Maybe he's jumping ship before they announce Diablo Mobile.

I'd be all over a diablo mobile game.  I just hope they announce d4 or some sort of mmo.

    I've got the straight edge.

For those of you following Blizzard news, longtime founder and President/CEO of Blizzard, my former direct boss, Mike Morhaime, stepped down from Blizzard today. He is a great guy and Blizzard will miss him. But what is interesting is some of the politics I see here.

You must work a crap job.

This is a time when people like me take 2 week vacations while the kiss-asses and jerks in the company lose their minds.

I have no idea what input or decisions he made if any.Likely part of a group that ok's expenditures but not a lot of hands on development input at least that is my hunch and i have never heard otherwise.

So if he stays or goes i don't think it matters at all to the business.IMO the area that needs change and improvement are the individual teams behind the games design decisions, more importantly the LEAD hands.

IMO they put Wow in a worse place then recently made it even worse.Well now Hearthstone is also in a matter of one season taking a nosedive to where everyone is tired of the game.

What are their teams doing with the other games,NOTHING,everything is SALES gimmicks, buy this and get a free whatever or spend money in one game and get something from another game, everything except improve the actual gaming experience.

Even the Diablo series,is there ANYONE,even the most diehard Diablo fans that think Blizzard improved the series with D3?No of course not and they even managed to make that iteration worse. So now Blizzard is about to announce a new Diablo product, never  mind improve what is there, just rehash the same name brand and make more instant sales from fanbois ready to buy it no matter what the game is like.

If you really pay attention to the entire Blizzard brand name of games,it could have been ANYONE as the CEO,the sales would happen anyhow because blizzard is a popular brand that entices streamers who also make games popular.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Can you actually read?I don`t say that blizzard is a fair or good company but still....
Blizzard will no longer offer employees the Blizzard Holiday Plan, a lucrative end-of-year bonus program, according to the Activision Blizzard 2018 Proxy Statment. It will instead, a rep said on Thursday, integrate that money into the base salary of employees.

"In the words of one of Blizzard’s core values: remember to always play nice; play fair. I know this community is capable of changing the world."

^ This line makes me sad, because you can tell they really care about their players, but their players are some of the most toxic people I've ever played any games with. It's like 4Chan decided to use any and all Blizzard games as a halfway house, and just never left...lol
