As you can clearly see it is impossible for me to play this game...

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Did you also play Origins? Having played a lot of Origins, I have held off on trying Odyssey because I fear it's just going to feel like the exact same experience. But I'd be glad to be told my fear is wrong.
I haven't played it but watched a few streams . I'v owned and played every Assassin's Creed game, This one is gorgeous graphically but , to me, It brings nothing new to the table. Personally can't justify spending 60 bucks for a 5-6 hour virtual tour of ancient greece before i realize I am bored to tears and never touch the game again. Now obviously that won't apply to everyone and I'm sure some if not many will get their money's worth especially if this is your first AC game .
On my wishlist and I'll give it a spin in 2021 when i pick it up for 8.99 in a summer sale.
Aloha Mr Hand !
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. After spending a ton of time in Origins when it launched, it just seems way too quick to be diving into another Assassins Creed game -- especially one set in such a similar time period (ancient Egypt and ancient Greece).

and Origins is a total conversion mod for The Witcher 3.
If someone is talking in general chat in a language you dont understand, chances are they're not talking to you. So chill out and stop bitching about it!
For other people who prefer mainlining the story, especially when the story is really good, all the side content will be seen as unnecessary grind.
Digging deeper, considering most of the content scales with you (from what I've seen), if there is indeed level gated content late-game, that's a fail that can be entirely laid in Ubi's lap. They could have added a story-mode.
So while the gameplay is entirely my type, I can see the frustration from the other side of the table.
Now from a non-gameplay standpoint... jebus cristo Ubi... enough with the overload of versions. I do think it's funny when they had an 'Ultimate' version then proceeded to make it not-so-ultimate.
And don't fall into the same design scheme that Shadow of War did, even people like me thought the grind in that game was egregious. (I never bought it.)
And on a side note hearkening back to someone calling the game world "soulless", when I first set sail on the ship and saw the dolphins escorting us out to sea it nearly brought a tear to this old submarine vet's eye.

Honestly it feels like what Origins should have/could have been. Kind of wish they just spent the extra year to add the additional layers that Odyssey adds.
The biggest change for me from Origins to Odyssey is the story. Odyssey seems to break up the story into three parts (Our family story, The Cult hunting story, the Ancient Civilization story). I finished the Origins story and to this day I still don't quite understand why our son was killed in the opening. It seemed to imply him (or our bloodline?) was somehow special, but it never really felt like it. I didn't feel at all connected to the assassination targets in Origin. The only one that was really compelling for me was the one that included a "betrayal" of sorts. The rest were bleh.
In Odyssey the cultists are equally "bleh" (at least so far) in that I feel very disconnected from them. But they are a side show and not our main purpose. It is still fun finding clues and revealing who they are. The main story is a much more basic one about family, but it at least makes sense (compared to Origins).
Then the other additions are appreciated. It expands on the Phylakates (sp?) by making a much larger number of them and a "bounty" system (Ala GTA style games). The ship upgrading is another extra layer beyond origins, which makes ships more entertaining. While it's not on the level of Black Flag, it is mostly limited by the time period than anything else (Pirate ships have more going for them).
For those who got bored in Origins - I would strongly consider giving it a try. The storylines are better, the world is more varied, and activities are more varied. So far it hasn't suffered from the horrible pacing issues of Origins either (the ending of Origins seemed incredibly rushed).
The only thing that Origins does better for me is the inclusion of a shield option. I have literally zero clue why they removed shields. If anything it makes more sense in Greece. I loved spear/shield as a weapon combo in Origins...now we just have spear/spear essentially. Many of the enemies have shields and I'm just envious. EDIT: Oh and if RDR2 ends up being as good as it looks like it is going to be, this won't win the major awards. That doesn't mean it isn't good, that just means it happens to be releasing only a month ahead of an even better game. The open world in this game is gorgeous, but it doesn't take the genre to the "next level", which is what the hype seems to be suggesting RDR2 will do. Level of interaction with the world is far more limited (you can't break into houses, most NPCs you don't talk to etc...)
What he says about the "chore like" feeling of the side quests is basically the main thing I disliked about Origins. Its so far from the formula they delivered with Black Flag, where all the side quests felt optional, but were also epic and totally fit the mould of the character and his story.
I played Witcher 3 and also played Mass Effect 3 on normal difficulty how difficult would this game be for me. Mind you I am a poor player if the game requires active dodging and blocking stuff. Is there a class I could play that would make fighting easier? For instance a pet class or ranged that is forgiving. It is rather expensive for me to buy and find out if I can play it.
