Murkmire, the latest big story DLC pack from Elder Scrolls Online, is finally shining a light on one of the series’ greatest enigmas – the Argonians. By traveling to the lizard-folk’s racial homeland, the story of ESO is definitely headed in a new direction from past events in Morrowind, Clockwork City, and Summerset. But what new danger will be uncovered?

Other teams like the ham fisted and reactionary combat balancing team and whoever is responsible for the jewelry crafting mess they created, not so much.
And you're right Bill, they are overdue for some kind of knock your socks off addition. Spell crafting has been on my wish list for several years too.

From what has been said they need to concentrate on past mistakes rather than yet another region, otherwise they are going down the route of Lotro and many other MMOs which did not learn that lesson.
If it's revenue driven design it's only so in the generic MMO sense that all grinds are designed to keep you around longer.
In-game furniture crafting competes with crown store furniture packages. The problem with JC is that they made it require 10X more quality improvement mats (5X more now after they threw us a bone) to improve jewelry from white > green > blue > purple > gold. There is nothing in the cash shop that provides any short-cuts or relief from that and they don't sell jewelry either.
I see this one as just plain bad design as opposed to greedy design. Jewelry drops are not the highly sought after difficult content rewards either - weapons are - and that makes their decision to make its improvement be this much grindier than weapon crafting even more nonsensical.
In a way this to me is even more troubling than if they were just being greedy. I may not like inconvenience with a clear profit motive but at least I understand it. the JC implementation just smacks of letting some junior person do it any old way and no one higher up stepping in to say that their idea made no sense. They then topped it off by hearing the universal player disgust with the system and not giving enough of a shit to fix it properly.

Combat balancing is just the same as it has been since Nick Konkle left to go to Riot Games 3 years ago. As I said above, it's ham fisted. They nerfed the crap out of magicka light armor builds - especially sorcs - while buffing the crap out of DW stamina ones... par for the course.
