Destiny 2 has scored a big accolade from SuperData Research for the month of September 2018. During September, Destiny 2 topped the digital console rankings thanks to the release of the Forsaken expansion. "Over 60% of all monthly active users purchased the expansion" according to SuperData Research.

Well, if you read the reviewer's review he liked it. He gave his pros and cons (one of the cons seemed odd but it was what it was). Additionally a lot of other reviewers also liked it.
Or you can look at metacritic for user reviews. Usually there is a war there as far as games that aren't that good with people giving them absolute 0's and those who are trying to counter those. Yet, most of those seem positive.
So perhaps, at least for, a good amount of people, the game works. I even found an article suggesting the updates made the game better and addressed issues.
With all that it seems the review falls in the right area as far as praise vs critique.

Now let's see if Bungie can avoid the gaffes the third time around, as we know they'll be releasing a Destiny 3 within the not-too-distant future.
Haha my thoughts.
Seriously I'm curious what's the active playerbase. 60% is quite decent, but if their playerbase is small I don't think that's that impressive. Usually smaller playerbase = more dedicated players, so high % of people buying an expansion/DLC etc... isn't that surprising.
Also is the D3 coming soon real? Honestly the game for me was a total flop, BUT it's not a bad game. Just the release didn't really offer anything worthwhile. If there is D3 and there is actual content to do I might go against my better judgement and waste my money yet again to try it out.
I guess that shows the state of MMORPG'ish games. Not much to choose from.
Fam, lol... most people who play destiny have no idea this forum exists..
Also yes, millions of people are playing right now as I type this. use the destiny tracker. Google it.
your personal projections mean nothing in the bottom line of what Destiny is. It was never a "Flop" ( wot) Its a real juggernaut. You don't have to like it but facts are there for you to research yourself

RDR2 will top October console sales.
Now if only companies would release their earnings information I could see if I was right.
Game was a massive flop. The initial release was horrible and I'm sure there are few games in history that have had more refund requests than Destiny 2 had. Since then I assume the game has improved, but it doesn't change the fact that it was one of the most underwhelming releases in gaming history.
Also the only reason this game can survive is because it's multi platform. If it was just PC only it would've shut down by now probably, but we all know that console games have different rules.

There is no correlation with Flop and Destiny 2.
you personally don't like it and that's your choice, but its far from a flop.
Edit: also physical sales being down from D1 mean little because Digital console sales have changed dramatically since 2014. D2 got over half of its sales from Digital.

How? My clan alone has 50+ active players atm all bought expac and are 600 or close to 600 which is the level cap. And even you queue for either pve or pvp queue is instant so not sure what do you mean. I wish other online games had queue this fast by the way fast queue means very rich population.
It seems like you completely ignored what I said. True the game sold a lot of copies I myself bought the most expensive one, but the game got a record holding refund requests. It seems like you refuse to acknowledge this fact.. Also I acknowledge that the game has probably improved since then and I'm not really debating the amount of users it have now(was curious what is it), what I said is that it was a flop at release and that's a fact that can't be disputed. I never managed to get a refund and a lot of people didn't get refund because of Bungie's bullshit refund policy. For that alone I place them below companies like Nexon, Aerie Games etc... that's just pathetic. Refusing refunds is the lowest level a company can stoop to. That just show how unconfident they are in their game.
FFXIV first release was also a flop, but the game is now quite successful. I'm not debating the possibility of a game getting better with time. I hope you understand now and won't try to pull BS numbers that have nothing to do with what I said.
Also as I mentioned talking about userbase about a game that have console users is plain stupid. That's like talking about the userbase of a mobile game. Completely irrelevant. PC user have a ton of games to choose while console users usually have to choose between a couple of choices. It's not a surprise that the game is a success in the console market. It was original a console game after all.
Btw in an early comment of mine I also mentioned that I might be willing to try D3 if it comes out. I didn't like the initial D2 release because there was nothing to do. Saying that I don't like the game isn't entirely correct. I didn't like the content the game have as for the game itself I did enjoy it.

No nice way of putting it, you are an idiot.
Lol..This a whole bunch of nothing. Dude you said the game was a total flop upon release. Im telling you it wasnt.
That's what I answered. I said nothing about user bases etc. I told you because they sold x amount there is no way its a flop period. I never said anything about the games getting better or worse. That's you trying to change the narrative.
Also your comment about the Consoles user base being "Stupid" or "Completely irrelevant" literally takes the cake for "stupid comment in a gaming forum".
Dude what are you talking about? I'm going to quote you:
YOU: "Also as I mentioned talking about userbase about a game that have console users is plain stupid. That's like talking about the userbase of a mobile game. Completely irrelevant. Fam, do you have a smart phone or are you still using a flip phone? You do know its way more money and work to make a PC, or Console game? You do know how that would average out? Have you checked the app store on your phone lately?
Real Questions.
Have a nice day. or night whatever.

You are genuinely killing me with all those questions. Surely you are trolling because you can't be serious about all those answers you gave and the "real questions".
Sells = success? Well Bless was quite the success I guess for example. People paying $200 + for a game... That's beyond successful lol
Also it seems that despite that I explained you still didn't understand what I meant by the console playerbase being irrelevant when trying to show if a game is good or not. Well honestly if you couldn't understand something so simple I doubt it's worth trying to explain it a second time. Also it seems like you also completely misunderstood what I meant when I reference mobile gaming...
Sigh I guess I'll try to explain again, who knows you might start thinking in the future after reading this.
Mobile games are the easiest when it comes to making money. Since they are more easily available they make a ton of money and every other game gets a ton of sales/downloads, but doesn't really mean the game is even decent. It could be utter garbage, but because it's so easily available it's normal to have high numbers AKA that's why the numbers don't really show if a game is good.
Just because McDonalds sells so much crap it doesn't really mean it's good. It's just everywhere.
Console games sales/downloads similar to mobile games don't really show if a game is good or not because there just aren't enough titles for people to be picky in some genres, so if a game(D2 in this case) is mildly good and polished it's going to be a success in the console market simply due to the lack of competition in the genre.
For me a game that could've been game of the year, but instead struggles the first few months is a flop no matter how you look at it.
If this game was PC only it would've probably shut down after the initial outcry from the PC playerbase. Again that's when it comes to the initial release. With the content there is in the game now if that was the initial release it would've probably been game of the year.
I think that continuing this debate is pointless. It's obvious that you are just defending it without really actually thinking of the clear points there are and honestly I don't really care. If you like the game I don't understand the need to try and make it look more than it is. Have fun with the game and the DLC Bungie is pumping out constantly to keep your wallet open. Doesn't really change anything for me.
@blueturtle13 I'm not sure since after I got told to pretty much "f off" when I asked for a refund I just uninstalled the game and didn't bother with looking at anything related to the game, but pretty much it felt like everyone was asking for a refund, of course obviously that wasn't true, but on each forum(whether d2's, gaming forums etc..) there were 9 posts of complains and 1 of someone saying "hey it's not what you expected, but it's not that bad"... Most people that were trying to defend it usually wouldn't use words like "it's really good" cause it wasn't. It was Destiny 1 rehashed.
Also if I remember correctly there was NO(0 people) support for refunds. Most people had to think of ways like asking their bank to refund, or calling the places they bought the game from and explaining why they ask for refund, of course a lot of people(myself included) that bought it via Blizzard didn't get a refund and it's not like the Blizzard employees didn't try. They tried, but if I remember correctly Bungie refused to give refunds to people who have leveled beyond level 7 or played more than 2 hours(don't remember if those were the exact numbers, but I think they were).
Edit: Quizzed Dog as well about how many copies of Destiny 2 were sold - AB not having said. Dog barked but said not to tell anyone, adding that there are multi-million fines for insider trading info and Dog wants to stay out of the dogpound.
