So they are lies too now eh? Why not just come straight out admitting the fuck up, that would gain some fans and bring the old back. Easier to trust a company that admit it’s flaws, gives a sense of false Security for the customers
LOL they probably held off to see what NCSOFT would do with Project TL (The Lineage). Bastards are actually kinda smart since this game is going to own them.
I thought it was put out a while ago that there are multiple Diablo projects in the works. Not sure why everyone is freaking out, announcements will come when they're ready.
I don't get this company. They have the resources and talent to make and update their games more quickly and with better quality than they have exhibited so far. Are they lazy or just inept? They should already be working on a Diablo 4, Starcraft 3, Warcraft 4 along with more frequent updates to World of Warcraft and even work on a new MMORPG. They have made unbelievable amounts of money over the years, but are obviously not reinvesting like they should.
If they want to continue dominating the online gaming space, they're going to have to do a lot better than they have been so far.
"First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right.”
Maybe I'm not understanding this right, but by saying that it wasn't ready to be announced that it's in the works is the same thing as announcing that it's in the works...
It means that it is in development but they perhaps couldn't get adequate footage or that gameplay is far too early in development to show. What's nebulous about that? o.0 Knowing Blizz's ostensible quality control, they obviously didn't believe that it was ready to be presented.
That said, I still think they could have ended with, "You know, Immortal sounds great but...wait...what's this slide?" The screen blooms with "DIABLO 4: RETURN TO SANCTUARY" before fading to black.
my guess is something to do with investment on Diablo Immortal project. Partner could have curfewed D4 announcement last minute as to put Diablo Immortal on spotlight.
They should have said something. Maybe people wouldn't of been that mad with them that it was only a mobile game announcement.
Part of the problem is with certain players.
example:
They make the announcement. However, after much development and testing
they decide they want to go another way. Except, at this point, several
years have passed. The players then rush to the forums that "it's too
little too late" and "they had their chance" and "Doesn't matter, I'm
over it and moving on to other games" and all sorts of player drama.
Game companies should only ever announce things when they are ready.
History showed that to be untrue. What was the backlash from canceling Starcraft: Ghost?
I personally think they do have a huge amount of work on a Diablo /Project .... I think pulling the Graphic Novels tells me that they had a light bulb moment and now do have a firm direction with their game. It maybe that they are also switching direction either 'from' or 'to' an MMO or similar and didn't want to risk blowing it on a sketchy reveal.
Weirdly the announcement of Diablo Immortal would have possibly gone down well if it was a smaller part of their original reveal process but unfortunately by becoming centre stage as a result of an obvious pull out for project 'x' did seem to backfire a little.
I must admit I am confused in knowing what folks want ... Diablo 4 or A new Diablo MMO or a Destiny 2 style of Diablo .... when it appeared months ago they were making a huge announcement the hype wasn't that certain for one specific genre ... I would like to think MMO but am probably way off ...
For all those who think Blizzard really, truly did mean to announce D4 up until the last minute, I have two words for you:
Project Titan
Yep ... some merit there ... and ultimately out came Overwatch so even though a little disappointment is understandable I do think folks should not keep building the negativity up .... it will smash them back in the face for sure.
If we haven't learned from watching real life news anytime they start a story with "Two people familiar..." you know its probably false. Kotaku has turned into a bunch of hacks who are desperate for clicks as bd will post anything to get them.
Blizzard will come out and denounce this, the hacks at Kotaku will stick to their story and that's where it will end.

Well, it is on spotlight now.

That said.......I'm still hyping over that Metroid Prime 4 logo Nintendo showed us last year. 'nuff said.
