Meaningless bribes after fleecing your player base with P2W and allowing the ecosystem to deteriorate to next to nothing. Genius, until there's no one left to bribe.

Subscription only server or die slow.

In fairness, the game is being managed by another company now. While I have my doubts, it is theoretically possible that Gamigo will do right by its community....I mean...right? RIIIIGHT? :D :D :D

I did vote with my wallet.

The game launched, I subscribed from day one and remained subscribed for about 6 months for which I used to play the game. During this time, I started feeling the limitations to my gameplay and figured that in order to enjoy the game fully, I would need to constantly buy stuff from the cash shop.

I unsubscribed and have not spent a dime on the game since then.

My wallet would be ready to vote again if they launched subs only server. I really think AA is a great game. I was in the top guild on my server, had my house and a few plots of land where I used to plant trees and grapes. I was transporting packages to ports on my vehicles and ships. We used to do OWPvP with my friends and guild.

I think AA is the best MMO that launched since 2004. Unfortunately, it got totally effed up by monetization.

When it first launched it had a lot of promise, i don't know what would have happened if they hadn't gone crazy with the cash shop, but i can't imagine it being worse than it is right now. If they only had cosmetic items in the cash shop, i would probably still be playing it now, though now Gamigo has its fingers in the till, i doubt there will be any improvements in that regard. :/

I followed Archeage for many years long before it came out. It was THE game I was excited about. Then they completely scrapped the design they had in alpha and remade it into the garbage it is.

They missed opportunity to launch subscription based servers

They'll never learn, enjoy your bankrupt

Game had potential blah blah. Sure the game has its issues. So what? Don't play it.  Aside from that the Hiram system is really nice and it pisses all the swipers off. Makes it a lot harder for them to just mash skills now that the new gear sits right below Erenor and the skill tree has had a 10 point reduction to cut down on rotations. Although this will probably encourage more zerg which is kind of annoying.

Voting with your wallet doesn't work anymore, so I'm not sure why people keep saying it. F2P/B2P business models obsoleted that cliché. You hav to vote with your time. Stop playing the game so that you Arne't contributing to making the game viable for people who are spending tons of money. People who spend tend to spend considerably and consistently, because they get locked into the game by their monetary investments. P2W'ish games tend to cost more than subscription games once you start investing in them - this is why so many games have changed business models.

By continuing to play the game, even when you don't agree with the business model or monetization strategy, you are supporting those business models or strategies by contributing to making them viable - because MMORPGs are dependent on viable player populations.

The whole point of F2P is that they make people like you give reason for people with fat wallets to spend.

You may not spend in the shop, but those people get to have fun blowing you up with their P2W equipment, potions, levels, etc.

You're a punching bag, and you seem proud of it simply because you haven't spent money. Your time is worth more tan that. That's how you have to vote, these days. By continuing to play the game, you are signaling to the companies running that you are ripe for the pickings. Even if no one was paying, they would still work to find a monetization strategy that would work for them. The only time they get the message that people simply aren't taking this, is when the players leave. At that point, even the players who pay MUST leave, because there is no point in investing in a wasteland of a game - especially one that is very dependent on player base size (almost any MMORPG, but particularly those that are played for PvP, etc.).

ArcheAge is probably the ONLY MMO that I would gladly trade the live launch servers for a Founder's Alpha server.

I heard XL Games was planning on doing some kind of graphic overhaul server (another brilliant Jake Song idea... ugh), they might as well bundle the subscription deal into it and finally do it all right. Fix the stupid labor pool back to what it was in Alpha (or better). Get the silly donate or pray harder to RNGesus mechanics out of regrading + crafting, and let server be the awesome ecosystem it could be.
    While they're at it:
    • Make Freedich Island risky and rewarding like before.
    • Make winning a guild versus guild or faction versus faction territory encounter have some upside so it's not a perpetual "we won, no you didn't, yes we did, no you didn't" deal
    • Stop requiring dungeon PVE stuff for PVP related gear
    • Clean up some of the housing foolery that happens (people abusing grids to land baron)
    • Encourage having one character per server so everything is clean
    • etc

I heard a news last year WeMade invest $178 M to the creator of Archeage and Jake Song came back to Archeage after few months. Then kakao game sign up a contract to xlgame to be a publisher of mobile game. I guess there is something big project they are doing, they keep it secret. If that is mobile game only that is a huge amount of money. Is this a fake news or not, that I heard?

People do not understand how voting with your wallet works.  Just like voting in real life, only the votes that are cast count. When you stopped spending your money, you stopped having any say in the results. To actually vote with your wallet, you would have had to spend the money elsewhere (cast a vote for something else). When the money moves from A to B, then B wins (and everyone tries to copy B ). If the money just stops, they just keep doing the same thing, as they dont see a reason to change.
