Funcom has announced that the next Conan game coming down the pike is Conan Unconquered, a strategy game being developed by Petroglyph Studios. You may remember that Petroglyph is the original developer of the Command & Conquer series.

    I like it. An RPG would have just been like Assassin's Creed Odyssey all over again. I don't want to do same thing over and over again with a chance the next one will be better or just as good. Mix those genres up, that way gaming is less boring.
    I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

    Looks like a cross between Cossacks 3 and Age of Mythology in Hyborea from the original C&C guys. I'm interested.

    One thing is for certain, it's definitely different...  maybe they'll find a way to make a unique and interesting game instead of a generic game attached to a popular IP.

    The talent that made Command and conquer is long gone - Petro has been struggling for years to make a decent game - Grey goo was their best effort in over 10 years

    I am highly skeptical of their ability to deliver a good game at this point

    One thing I still give FC credit for, at least historically speaking, is they've been one of the few developers to consistently take chances on new systems or different twists on a given system in their games.

    The problem is, they have also consistently managed to screw said games up. It's like they can't help but sabotage their own projects.

    Actually I think if com owns the IP I recently bought some hard back reprints (still have my dads leather bound complete collection that he got from his dad. Funnily enough both of them were super evangelical Christians.) and they had the fun on logo.

    yep, was thinking about the same "ah yes, conan, the great strategist. chop of head. prob solved!"

    don't get me wrong, i love my king like most cimmerian but hell, strategy? you sure?
    (uh and don't tell conan i said that about his strategic abilities.... i like my head right where he is!)

    Usually strategy games blow pretty bad, unless they are referring to strategical, turn based combat....Some companies confuse the two.

    This is going to be interesting. Defending against the attack of hordes is often a mini-game option in regular RPGs and they are going to make an entire game out of it? Some people say they really love the challenge in, They are Billions, but it also sounds like it leaves people wanting more which would explain why they are adding exploration. Kinda like Conan meets Sims City meets World War Z.

    what we really need is a conan game where 100 people start on this island....... not a strategy game
