The list of nominees for the annual Steam Awards has been revealed. The community provided the input, and the Steam gremlins calculated the top games across several categories. There are a few surprises sprinkled within, so it's worth checking out after the jump!

    It is always the case with awards ceremonies that you must have more awards just like the Olympics needs to include ever more sports and so on.

    Nominees for Labor of Love: This is a category to give an award when you can't actually be sure what you are awarding it for.

    Nominees for Best Alternate History: This one was probably created because a/some title/s was seen to be missing out, but still seen as deserving of an award.

    It really is a byzantine marketing process, dictated more by big gaming studios wanting to know why their big game this year is not on the list.

    I hope that Capcom/MHW doesn't win anything on PC. I bought the game for my brother during the cybermonday sales, and it runs at about 15 fps on his computer even at the lowest settings due to a patch that causes the game to not recognize the graphics cards of a large percentage of users.

    One of the most embarassing PC ports I've ever seen.

    No Man's Sky is vastly better in its current state and I am glad they didn't abandon the game, but the fact No Man's Sky got Labor of Love nomination and Warframe didn't is beyond me. Wow..

    Also, I lol at Bethesda getting anything on this reward list after recent events. I think CD Projekt Red or Digital Extremes may bag this for best Developer.

    it's nice to see this but for the worst game awerd? cause steam propose a lot of crap and casgrab game too

    That GotY list is poor, very very poor. And if PubG wins, PC gaming needs to address this low standards... big time.

    STeam awards were a complete joke there were far better choices in every category that were completely and intentionally ommitted

    I'm pretty sure it was based on how many votes they got during the winter voting, up to now. So these results are from the top votes each had by the voters (or bots).
