Speaking of VPN, anyone know if this one can go on a firestick? I have cox and try to use Kodi on firestick, but it seems like they try to block me or do something to make it not work. When I moved to where I live currently Kodi just basically stopped working, no matter what version I DL and set up. Where I used to live it worked beautifully.

I have a VPN but it won't install on firestick, and the ones knowledgeable people try recommending to me require me to know way more than I know and do a bunch of crazy shit to get it to work through my router. Lets assume it is not possible for me to understand the ones that work through a router and I would need one I can install on the firestick and it automatically works. Is there anything like that? I'm looking for easy mode, or VPN for dummies. EDIT - And would a VPN even get it to work? I guess that is probably a better first question. I was told it would solve the issue but I have no idea if that is true or not.

No you are definitely better off using a VPN, i live in the UK and the way things are at the moment using a VPN is a necessity. :'(

Privacy is important but its getting to the point of paranoia for some. Just don't use certain browsers and don't get stuck in social media. Definitely stare away from Google products if its that important to you. VPN's are good but some of them are not.

Without the rampant use of malicious ads, ad blockers wouldn't be as common.  I've long tried to whitelist your site, and still do on the main page.

But on the forum, for a long time, you've had ads that intermittently break things while I type.  I think the issue was that it would take focus so that the cursor was no longer in the text box, and keystrokes then did nothing.  It's an enormous nuisance to have that frequently happen, to the extent that it's very awkward to post without blocking ads.  Block ads and the problem goes away instantly.

It's been some months since I've tried whitelisting you on the forums, but I gave up on checking after several rounds of complaining and seeing if it was fixed demonstrated that it wasn't.  I get that you need revenue, but the choice was block ads on the forum or stop using it altogether, and the latter doesn't get you revenue, either.

MMORPG.com is getting worst every day with placing advertisements as 'news'. They should just stop with this kind of BS. It's one of the reasons I'm not overly found anymore of this site while they used to be awesome in the past.

Unfortunately they have to make money... I dislike the paid stories but what can you do...

Problem is it's not specified that it's sponsored and at the same time no one in their right mind would recommend purevpn. As it was mentioned already they are truly bottom tier. And what's worse with them their support is below bottom tier.

Are you not seeing the SPONSORED label on the scroller image on the main page, the SPONSORED orange image ahead of the title on the news page? I mean, how much clearer does it have to be

Thanks for adding the SPONSORED tags later on. They were not there when I posted my reply ;-) Also, the light blue one (on the featured page?) ain't that clear. Better make the color stand out more (like the orange tag you added later. There's still no tag in the image for the 'news' section though :p

Those things don't come to the forum SNIPPET on the forum because it's just that -- a snippet. The intent, and the information about it being a sponsored article, is quite apparent if you bother to click the full link. It doesn't get much clearer than that. But to appease those of you who don't or won't click full links to find the very obvious information, I've included it in the forum title as well. *facepalm*

If you think that we're unique in putting up maybe 2-3 a month (and often much fewer than that), you're not looking at the internet with open eyes at all. Many sites run sponsored content.

Without the rampant use of ad blockers, we wouldn't have to run sponsored content. At least we don't force whitelisting like a vast number of sites out there.

Literally all those sponsored that you have circled weren't showing up for me before.

@kitarad it's in the title now. It wasn't before.

I'm with you dude, the "Sponsored" was not showing up for me either when this article was first showing up.

The rest of us though, care about our freedoms. Excuse our Baby Boomers though, they're afraid of everything. They'll give anything away if the tv told them to.

Got the same meaning in English as well. But also the sound that Big Ben makes, maybe because it is also HIGH! ;)

Unless it means something else in Dutch then by all means please do share.

Kodi/Firesticks, etc. You know Netflix still has to pay their IT team and other employees? Sorry to be the party pooper but for fuck sakes. It's not expensive to fork out the money for Netflix and whatnot. There's no reason to justify why you should get free streaming services that other people pay for. If you can't then ask your moms for a bigger allowance or maybe get a better job.

Getting too old for this $&17!

They are trash like any public vpn seller, they will hand over all your data instantly when subpoenaed.

Instead buy a cheap vps from ovh for $8 a year, configure your own vpn with a dd script erasing logs and Install a torrent client that seeds 10 files at low speed to mask connections. You are 100% anonymous.

I have a fantastic VPN service that doesn't keep logs, therefore there's nothing to hand over to law enforcement if they ask.

It's also lightening quick in response time for gaming, barely decreases my up and download speeds and doesn't have any blocks for major websites, except for, amazingly, my bank which won't allow me to connect with it on.

However, the problem with telling people about your amazing VPN that you found, is that once several thousand more people start using it, then it becomes less and less amazing with each connection.

    So I ain't sayin shit.

While I agree that using a VPN is a good idea in the UK or anywhere for that matter.

The only way anyone could view our country as being "basically communist" under the current Conservative government is if they support a far right , ultra nationalist or alt right cause .

There is a lot going wrong in a country at the moment and it may be in the next 5 to 10 years we may elect either a hard left socialist government or a new alt right party may come to power but at present we a long long way from being a communist state .

Whether you should care what happens if your VPN provider gets subpoenaed depends tremendously on what you're doing with it.  If you're avoiding region blocks or just trying to make sure that the first hop to a public WiFi spot is encrypted, the authorities won't care.  If you're selling heroin or distributing child porn, then I'd recommend that you stop.
