Atlas is going to be getting a pretty hefty update today that is bringing a number of significant changes to systems that have been identified as some of its most punishing. In particular, cooking, land ownership, survivalism, progression and creature balance are getting tweaked. "We like it a little rough, but we understand when things go too far, sometimes it just takes the fun out and that's when we need to consider -- is this piece of the puzzle really worth it?" developers wrote.

Atlas has come leaps and bounds since launch. I expect steam reviews to continue to climb as time goes on.

I cant wait for the DLC. But if we are lucky they will release it as a brand new game instead of a DLC :)

I have been intrigued by Atlas recently. I think i'm going to buy it when it goes on sale. I was almost going to jump into the ARK game but then i'm just reading up recent steam reviews on Atlas and they seem to be fun. I am not a pirate person, but I do like exploring.

On a side note: Can you find random NPC's, enslave them, and sell them in port?

Not to be nitpicky, but what do you mean by continue?

As of this writing Jan 7, 107 Positive, 127 Negative, and the ratio hasn't changed very much over the past week; in fact, the only thing that's changed considerably is the total number of reviews being made, being about half as many yesterday as were submitted January 1st for the title.

The overall rating is still Mostly Negative with 18,000 reviews.

I have pretty much spent the 150 hours i have in game on the same lawless island enjoying the building. I think the only npc's in game are in freeport ond on "merchant" ships. They reduced the insane mob aggro/dmg/hp regen in fight which is good. Its only fun for so long getting murdered by 2 crocs 3 snakes and a vulture getting the kill shot for so long.
I have watched some of the end game or high lvl stuff not a fan of the plate armor look at all.

Plate armor? Now there is something that doesn't belong in a pirate theme'd game.

Wonder why they included it, can't imagine being on a ship in any sort of heavy armor.

Oh well, probably will go good with the machine guns released in a future expansion.

    ;)

Guess what, patch was delayed last minute :-D

A game where you had the biggest ship in the game in 36 hours just getting more easy mode. The mega corps probably have 500+ ships in less than 2 weeks of actually being able to play the game. People have more resources than they know what to do with (under the old ways) and its 'punishing'.

So ridiculous. Games has been circling the drain since day one. Over priced private servers arent  helping either many got their free trial (some places were offering those) and they have disappeared. There are a few but not many if any look like theyre worth it.

They are supposed to be delivering the mod kit soon so that MIGHT put a little bit of life back into those.

Treasure maps and rarer recipes (which was a big thing in ARK) isnt even a thing in this game because people have so many things they dont even bother. Then when they run into someone with those higher level items call them glitches or cheats because theyre doing things their generic crap cant do. So hilarious.

But these last patches are showing their desperation on trying to keep people playing this trash. But theyre doing the exact opposite. With zero progression and nothing to do once you get the 'shineys' making all that easier to get defeats the purpose.

Its also reached the point where there isnt any PvP either (not that it was actual PvP anyway) as all the big corps (run by streamers) all basically avoid each other. Even the dreaded Chinese, and there arent any pockets of resistance left. That and I think Devs told these guys to maybe calm down exterminating everyone on every map.

They didnt crack 40K people last night. People can blame it being a Monday but no real excuse. Just half the people who survived the first few days of crashes and DC got bored, got wiped, or realized it wasnt all that.

Honestly why are you promoting this game? This is LITERALLY a scam that was falsely advertised and the only reason it got "popular" at all is because money hungry streamers kept promiting it for days. This game shouldn't be allowed on steam in the first place and everyone that bought it is is eligible refund it on false advertisment basis. The only thing you're doing by still writing about this game is encourage other developer's to publish garbage like this because they know they will get away with it.

You know the reason, we all know the reason. Don't even bother kicking dust up about it.
