I love what people will do for the love of a game. This game is a decade old and there are still fans that want to make it better even after official support has long ended. :)

Maybe I'll reinstall and try it.

I'm always a bit skeptical about restoring dialogue as it depends on why the dialogue was cut. Sometimes cutting dialogue is about fixing pacing or removing something that was decided was better left unsaid.

Good for the fan doing this, but a game developer should fix the bugs themselves, not leave it for mods to do so.

The game needs less dialogue .. imo

    It's a 10 year old game! :) They're not patching any more.

Hey, if my next playthrough contains new surprises thanks to this, I'm all for it. :)

Hire that person! On second thought if they hire them, they will be too busy to fix the old games. :-/

That's probably true but it seems that developers only have so much bandwidth for fixing bugs and then "it's done."

Bioware is getting the Bethesda treatment. Is that a good or bad sign?

Fans have ALWAYS modded BioWare games. But, again: This is a decade old game which devs stopped supporting years ago.

    AGREE!

I wish that EA would make a smart decision for once and do three things:

    1) Remaster the Dragon Age games
    2) Remaster the Mass Effect series
    3) Let BioWare make KOTOR 3

But...."smart decision" and "EA" seem like mutually exclusive terms.

Remaster Dragon Age but remove the %^&%$ Harrowing quest.

Mages have to endure enough oppression to put up with this harrowing crap. The only part of DA:Origins i hated with a passion and refused to play a second time because of it.
It would be blasphemous for me not to play this game as a mage. A lot of games can learn from DA mages, but EFF the harrowing.

So.... @Octagon7711 Have I  ever told you what I'd love to see from EA / BioWare these days...? :D

Ah wishes. I don't understand why they wouldn't do those things? It's a built-in audience purchase for fans of all three series.

if anyone is interested I say go grab the patch before EA try something....

btw don't matter if the devs stoped the support the bugs should be fixed before that happen, and I don't see much use for a remaster on mass effect games, its not like teh game looks that old, only the the first ME gameplay was supperior to the others

and a kotor 3 is on star wars old republic choose jedi knight and go on.....
FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

I get where you are coming from, but they stopped patching it long before it became an old game. Way too many bugs just get left untouched in games these days while developers move on to the next money maker.

Well, i was thinking of re-installing DAO and grabbing this BUT looks like you have to pay to be able to download it. Last update for this was also last November (previous version also been replaced since according to its info some players were reporting language problems in the latest one).

Nothing at NexusMods costs anything. You can pay a small "membership" to get access to faster servers, I think, but the mods cost $0. When I went to the link provided, it told me that I only have to be logged in -- not paid and the mod is free. I logged my account and downloaded the 3.3 version (Manual version) weighing in at 122Mb.

Nexus Mods is dedicated to providing our community with free access to mod files. However, we ask that you please login to your Nexus Mods account before you can download any files.

We require all users to login to a Nexus Mods account when downloading to prevent abuse of our systems, to provide additional security and so we can reliably reward the mod authors on Nexus Mods via our Donation Points system (which relies on us being able to record accurate download statistics).

To download this file please either sign into your account or sign up for a free account.

Then there is this article that goes along with the one you posted.

Star Wars: EA Reportedly Unhappy with Game License
    https://www.denofgeek.com/us/games/star-wars/278678/star-wars-electronic-arts-unhappy-license
"Why has EA had so much trouble getting new Star Wars games on shelves? According to Kotaku, EA's difficulties with the Star Wars license might have something to do with CEO Andrew Wilson, who has reportedly never been "entirely thrilled" with the 10-year licensing deal in the first place. This claim is according to Kotaku's sources inside EA as well as former employees. The publisher responded to the report, calling the rumors "pure speculation and not accurate."

It could be that EA really only wants to make those multiplayer SWTOR games for the duration of their contract with Disney. So, very doubtful we we see a KOTOR 3 since the reality is SWTOR is EA's version of that IP.

Absolutely. There is also a texture enhancement mod for Origins, although i think that the game looks pretty good even after 10 years.

My suggestion is to play Origins and DA II. The later may lack in world design, essentially you play in a city and it's outskirts, but the story is very good and the combat is the best in the series. For this one i would suggest the 1GB texture pack Bioware released a few years back.
