I hope this is good. Still going to wait until at least a month after launch. If it's good, it will still be good then.

For everyone going in early, have fun. I will be looking forward to reading about your experiences here.

Or you could play next weekend when the free demo drops. You can play then and still wait a month I guess.

And? Games used to com on a 360k floppy disc; you suggesting they go back to that?

44Gb is not that big a deal these days.

I just hope it's not like the 50GB 'For Honor ', which was basically a collage of choreographed combat moves with no feeling of control of your character. For that amount of data in a client, I would expect much much more in terms of gameplay than simply shining graphics and motion-captured animations. If Anthem plays like Borderlands series, however, then I'll probably give it a try, I like the basic concept of the game.

And people like you would complain if the game didn't have high quality VO, cutscenes, and graphics... for the love of Pete!

My only question is, will the progress follow over to release?

See I feel totally different about For Honor - I really loved the game and concept, but it was frankly just too hard. In truth, I didn't spend much time with it, but I could never get the timing down right to effectively block.

Playing Online (which was a big draw after finishing a portion of the campaign) was just impossible for me due to the skill gap.

Progress will follow over from the VIP beta to the open beta but then it will be wiped for release.

didn't Mr. Gamble confirm the game only supports 4K and not 1080p?, at least on console, dunno about PC. Those GB are all graphics. I'm afraid the whole game is all graphics and little game content.

    We will see after launch.

Say what you want about Bioware, their games always have game content and lots of it. You might not like their game decisions or recent games but they are always chock full of content.

on console you can search for Anthem Demo in their stores.
if on PC use the search bar on Origin and look for the demo.

I had fun once, it was terrible.

You can probably bring up the main splash screen but won't be able to get in until the servers go online.

That's because the demo is "different" from the game. If you are on PC, open Origin and go into the Store, then click on the ad for Anthem, you will see a "Try it First" button under the "View In Library" one you have (since you already own the game). It will load another "game" in your library; the Anthem Demo, that you will then be able to download, etc.

I'm not worried about the quality of the game..it's the horrid download rate on Origin. Battlefield V patches soooo slow. Brings back nightmares of patching EQ1 over 14kbs modem. I'm giving any game a hard pass that is on Origin because of this.

    Yeah, that's a thing.

I suppose Bioware's owners didn't have to sell it. I'm not really clear that it was necessary but, you know, "money."

Oh boy.. have fun with this abomination of a demo which has different economics and an easier experience overall to appeal the journalists. The true game will have a lot worse and mtx to cater those who cant farm 500 hrs.
