Just VIP world player concerns; don't put money into it, wait for the reviews as always.

how the hell can you "under-plan server capacity" in a VIP demo where you got exact numbers for!?

or did no one tell em how much they sold / handed out?

    gj ^^

did you even read the OP ? I want to dispel one comment we’ve seen: that we under-planned for server capacity.

You know what. As condescending as that may sound to most you are probably right. Too many people treat their PC as a All-In-One, One-Stop Strip Mall full of shit just taking up space running everything all the time. Then they wonder why they are getting shitty FPS or performance issues on their slightly over minimum spec PC.

I love when I see someone post their desktop layout and I see the taskbar full from one end to the other of shit running. Then wonder why their Fisher Price My First Computer is not running the newest game at 4K.

Sorry for the rant it's early and I'm bored!

Edit: Kinda on-topic but I won't be able to play this weekend even though I got a free copy of Anthem for buying a new GFX card because you have to have the actual card installed and use GeForce Experience bloatware to get it, and if you read my rant above you can figure out that I DO NOT WANT to install bloatware like that on my PC. I can only hope that I can uninstall it as soon as I get access to the game. My card will not get here until Wed or Thurs.

You keep mentioning running out of ammo.  Are you staying in a single spot for the duration of a fight?  I've never ran out of ammo.  Also, I've played all the content available up to this point on hard and have yet to get 2 shot by trash mobs.  There is one particularly nasty area in the freeroam map but even then you don't get 2 shot.

It's rather easy to run out of ammo if you play solo when swam of mobs is camping you. And in group - when you are the only person left alive or your team mates have no clue what to do or where to go in free play. I've used assault rifle and machine gun - specifically to have more ammo, still ran out of it.

Not to mention how groups have used line of sight and jump/height-related "exploits" to kill mobs and bosses to avoid being killed nearly instantly in most encounters.

You might need to use 3rd party software to remove the nvidia stuff before re installing, but you can do a custom install and exclude GeForce Experience, it really does not add anything and is as you say, 'bloatware', i also pass on installing any of the 3d stuff and only install what i am actually going to use and not what Nvidia thinks i need to have, of course i also have Win 7 so i have a fair amount of control over what is and is not, installed on my PC. ;)

This was not even the open demo so will see how that goes but this is not a positive sign.

Exactly. What are they going to do when it comes out globally? Hope the will fix bugs by that time.

This might be the end for Bioware.

Anthem isnt bad, but it isnt anything special either. Its not going to to the sales that the shareholders are going to expect.

Why cant EA just let thier studios make the games they want to make, instead of trying to force their best studios, to make things they dont want to, nor have created before.

Why exactly wasnt Bioware given a Starwars game to create ? They created some of the best starwars games when the license was being handled by Lucasarts. Can you imagine a top tier Starwars RPG by bioware, with Frostbite ? It gets me instant hard.

Sadly, like i sad at the start, this is most likely the last bioware game ever.

The PC version runs just fine and looks quite polished and tuned. It's the PS4 version which has some huge fps issues, especially in the hub.

I usually run out of ammo.  The timers on the free skills are pretty long so even when I try to mostly use them it's easy to run out.  I had this problem when I first started playing The Division, later they increase ammo drop rates.  This game will need a bit more tweaking.  They even said during some of the interviews they were still working on the numbers to balance out game play.

Tried it for 20 mins and the lag, mainly rubber-banding, was unplayable. Will see if there's improvements next demo weekend.

My cousin has been praising this game for over a year.  After his first time playing, he was beyond pissed.  He had several issues with lagging and things going forward than back again.  He called it a mess but was optimistic they may be able to correct the issues.  I asked how the game was in terms of fun, likability ect,  his response was unknown since he couldn't play enough due to the many issues.  He was also playing a decent and fairly new PC.

The game itself is actually quite solid from my experience thus far.

The gunplay is satisfying. Some of the best third person gunplay we've seen in a long time, which is out of character for Bioware.

    The aesthetic customization is unparalleled.

The build customization seems pretty good so far. We'll have to see what top end gear functions like to really get a clear picture.

The open world freeplay is actually fun to explore and comes with difficulty sliders. A huge step up from the semi-linear patrol maps in Destiny.

The few boss encounters shown here seem to actually be challenging and require the player to use their mobility to dodge AoEs.

Not enough content shown to gauge the story. At the very least, there are characters with personality and some context for what you are doing in this world. That's more than can be said for vanilla Destiny.

Fix the demo issues and this may actually be a great game.

You can always tell when someone either works for a gaming company, is a paid reviewer, or didnt actually play the game because theyll give you a weak generic review like this one.

As this is only demo I will reserve my impressions for now but I have two big concerns that I hope are addressed: One - there is no way to identify when I should be going and help or receiving help from other on my map i.e I trigger a world event and cant do it solo but the other 3 players are my map are scattered and probably have no clue that they are missing out on a world event. Two - when crafting I would like to know the base stats of the items before I craft. Right now you craft blindly. When it shows you the tier and the mats required to craft it should also show you the base stats of that tier..

    Other issues:
    • Some mobs seem to have a very quick shield recharge trigger... by the time my weap reloads they are already recharging shield...
    • I hope the map is a lot bigger than what we are getting in the demo. When you zoom out it doesn't looks like a lot of extra map to be discovered.
    • Hope the final game has more random conversations with town folk (i.e. RDR2)

    Really?...

The response you considered appropriate was to call the other user a name and then throw an internet buzzword in to finish it off?

How very clever! I'm sure you're sitting at home basking in the golden light of your own superiority, thinking about how bested this individual intellectually.

What do you expect? Should I have submitted to him an entire thesis paper with scientific proof as to why he's wrong? Do you honestly believe that anything that he said (or that you said) requires or justifies an in depth response.

Someone mentioned solo play.  Today I did the Freeplay option in game.  There are still three other players running around but you are free to do your own thing.  I ran into a few missions, completed them solo and blundered into joining the other players for a world mission, I think they called it.  I had time to gather crafting materials and explore which is what I really like doing.  Game play was smooth, which was nice.  When I decided to end Freeplay the game showed just me and the points I had gotten, including Alliance points.

Great experience and on the other side of the coin it felt strange running around in a game like it was a single player with three other players, and all the NPCs in the zone being hostiles only. Missions and boss areas should be marked when you discover them.   Jury is still out on this one as it's hard to get a feel for a game playing only five boosted levels, while leaving out the start and max level play.

There clearly is an issue - lots of folks are reporting problems and Bioware themselves have spoken about it; however its also clear that its not an obvious issue. Lots of people are playing with "no" problems.

Happened, I recall, with AoC. Which turned out to be graphics driver related - either AMD or NVidia can't remember which but there had been some update or something. As a result c. 50% of posters said they could play the pre-launch beta with no problems the other 50% of posters struggled mightily. And some who could play didn't believe those who couldn't and vice versa. The resulting patch fixed it.

This is probably not going to be as simple to find but - hopefully - it will be as simple to fix.

Had one rubber-banding issue. Fixed by reboot.
Tons of Inifinite Loading Screen (happened more then 50% of the times). Annoying as heck.

But outside of that, this game seem rather bug free, was really fun and gorgeous to look at. I found the short story entertaining and even had a laugh or two. No problems with FPS except for the one time rubber banding.

If they fix the infinite loading, this game is going to be quite special.

yeah well i have only got into teh game ONCE with the workaround, and completed mission 1, not been able to get in since (even with the workaround being tried) loading sticks at 95% and does nothing else, hard reset and relaunch just takes me back to loading into the game and having to run back to your suit to launch the mission..... I gave up last night and have not even bothered to try today.

I also agree that if this issue is in the open beta then i will have to cancel my pre-order as i can only imagine it will be there at release and for several months and that i just cannot justify paying for the hassle of a broken and busted game, for that would be exactly as it is.

I was stuck at infinite loading to get into the game.
I was stuck at infinite loading to get into freeplay and missions.
I was stuck at infinite loading to exit freeplay and missions.
I checked and saw that my CPU was hitting 80%+ with spikes to 99%.

My computer was built last month and has a i7 9700 and the game was trying to melt it. I had to give up and hope it is better next weekend. I did enjoy what I played. Ammo does seem to run dry at times. I had issues with some of the game but nothing really major yet as not enough playtime other than actually being able to easily navigate to where team members with the demo as I know they showed during a dev stream something for that. Flying is a bit wonky but I got it better though would like it to zoom out a bit more while flying to see more up and down.

I really want to play more and hope that I just need more setting controls to make it where I can play it but I don't want to play it with my cpu at 80%+ the whole time. I set settings to full screen and that dropped it to 40% if I did not move much.
