Didn't this just have an open beta for their battle royale that anyone could take part in or something? Unless I'm wrong, I dont see the point in this. Just launch the BR mode so it can be forgotten in a month please. TBH, I'd only care for game mode 'game' that is big like 20v20/50v50 only etc. Hell, 10v10v10v10v10 would be cool too.

Testing has been conclusive. After looking forward to AoC the MMO and getting AoC the watered down BR game, I am stressed. Well done guys.

Getting really confused between this, Chronicles of Elyria and Saga of Lucimia for some reason.

No worries none of these three including Ashes the MMO (AtM) are going to be releasing this year.

I though the battle royale WAS the stress test. So is this a stress test for the stress test?

No the BR was to test the combat which makes complete sense.

I mean who doesnt create a new game to test the combat for the other game but the other game also has the tab targeting yet the BR is not taking away from development but also no resources are going toward it although there is a cash shop and beta tests for the testing environment.

Yep that pretty much covers it.

    Clear as mub...good

Dodged a bullet not backing/funding this one. Everyone I knew was so hyped early on, but this whole BR "combat testing" turned full game made by mmo funding with mmo delays is a shoddy mess.

watched a video on this game and the guy who owns the business. The guy in the video used to get along with this guy quite well but was booted out because of some negative things he said on stream.

The final conclusion was that this guy is a scam artist,a bullshitter.

I should find the video,it was a bit old but the point of the video was that dude pointed out during the stream that NOTHING was added from the previous several months,it was like nobody was working on the game.

Ok only thing i remembered was it was from march still took a bit to find it.This guy btw is a pretty good reviewer,no bull shit in his approach.

That video is actually when he was still defending the game. This is the updated one i was thinking about.

So this was after he was a fan back in march then 8 or so months later this is why he became a not so happy fan.

We created Apocalypse as a means to provide an arena where we test core MMORPG backend and combat systems. When we began the beta for Apocalypse back in December, we actually discovered a lot of fixes needed before our MMORPG Alphas and Betas. It’s good we discovered this before our MMO alpha because it has allowed us to address these issues before providing players the Alpha and Betas they paid to be part of. Which is partly why we are providing Apocalypse as a Free to play game.

This Thursday’s Test in particular we are testing incrementally increasing the player count per match above 100 in order to accommodate the large battles and raids we will be seeing in the MMORPG.

There are many systems that go into preparing the Alphas and Betas for the MMO which were not needed in order to provide the Apocalypse Arena, and allows us to test certain core systems earlier than our scheduled Alphas for the MMO.

Hope you’ll join us in helping to test ❤️

Yeah, I've gotta admit, if I had known up front they were going to get distracted by the BR, I never would have pledged. And they can say all they want that the work on the BR doesn't impact the MMO's development time but if they put all of the resources currently devoted to the BR over to the MMO, I bet we would get something sooner.

I get the BR may prove to be a valuable learning experience for the MMORPG, especially in terms of network performance and what have you.

The fans of Ashes the MMO (AtM) could use some reassurance the dev team isn't being terribly distracted by the BR work and the EOY timeline remains more or less intact.  (Of which I am doubtful)

TLDR version: Time to show the MMO fans something cool and the BR isn't it.

NO. Please do not pretend this is some noble gesture intended to provide paying customers with a better Alpha / Beta experience... we backed for a P2P MMO, not some shoddy F2P BR (that already has a Cash Shop!), so please, show us the MMO, bugs and all... but if the BR is the best you've got, then I'm guessing you don't have an MMO, with all of it's promised features, to show...

You've got my $100 either way, and I am willing to wait (I know game development takes time), but please do not expect me to get excited, or 'help' you in any way, until you start doing what you promised, which, again, was to make a P2P MMO.

@Ashes_Steven Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe you claimed you had a funded budget of $30M for the MMORPG.  Putting up what most see as a cash-grab BattleRoyale side project certainly makes me doubt that.

Your diehard Discord echo chamber will nod you to death but the rest of us simply don’t buy it.  I mean, do you even have your forums back up yet? Is it now 2 months they are down?  Or is it 3?  And I simply do not believe that you unintentionally brought down your referral site at the same time you opened the sales and cash shop for the BattleRoyale.

    Sorry  <3

Or they could've, y'know, been up front about the planned BR with cash shop when folks were considering backing it in the first place.

But hey, crowdfunding is literally just free cash given by suck- ahem, "faithful."
