No doubt the sales of chocolate and flowers have been increasing in the spiral. It's Valentine's Day next week after all. Date or no date, Valentina Heartsong comes to the Shopping District every year to share her holiday goodies with the residents of Wizard City. As much as I look forward to her visit, wouldn't it be cool if there was something more this time of year?

Fully agree with you. Daughter and I are getting ready to head back to the spiral this late spring/easrly summer. If they had events that were a little deeper, that might get us back earlier.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

As is the most common aspect of the game play/players,is kids just hang around the free commonlands and create drama chat and don't even play the game.If the developer was paying attention they would see that,so is the game too boring that kids would rather stand around and chat, idk figure it out.
Card packs=-mini loot boxes, some the gaming community and law has shown it does not approve of.Other powerful items are sold directly in the cash shop, including mercs to aid a player through SINGLE battles.
Would events help the game/community,of course not, every single event is simply there to influence the cash shop.If Kings Isle was sincere i ntheir efforts then maybe but imo the game needed to show some effort way above the steady influx of copy paste design they have used over and over.

They are paying their employees anyhow, why not have them write some new creative code and give players something more than quests that simply have players run from one corner of the map to the other.Open the maps up so they are not gated and linear.Put some effort into an event, then yeah it could be a good thing.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

We keep hearing about the outcry for new worlds in Wizard101 and Pirate101 but actually how many people advance far enough to complete all worlds? Many begin to resent the grind in Marleybone or Zafaria. I think it would be better to focus on keeping players happy and expand current worlds. There are beautiful areas in each world that could be opened up with new quests. Also I look at the new packs and housing bundles and wonder what do they have to do with Wizard101? I'm so far away from the newest worlds that I have no idea why new packs include certain items. A couple of years ago a quest of the day was started & that was great until you tried to go back to areas and find the specific creatures or ppl you were to battle. It had been so long since I was in Marleybone and the creatures didn't show up on maps bc I had already finished the quests that after wandering around, I thought, forget it. I think if KingsIsle focused on making keeping players happy currently (which also means follow through on whatever is given new: update the maps or tell us exactly where the creatures are). Following thru instead of working on future microtransactions and worlds so much, players would be happier. And, I would suggest they play Neverwinter for awhile and pick up some of what they do for players. The only time wizs do anything together is a in-game meet and greets. Neverwinter brings players together to quest together. Mass questing. Mass fun events. Not limited to 4 players. In some Neverwinter events, players pick up items that are converted into gifts for other players. You don't know how rare or common the gifts. We also convert some items into pinatas that can be saved and used at any time of the year. You can stand in seclusion and get the prizes for yourself or stand at The Commons Pond and anyone can help break apart the pinata. The pinatas are unexpected and fun with lots of sound effects and drama.

In Wizard101 we are asked to draw a dress for Valentina Heartsong. 2-3 players will receive a prize for the nicest design but that's it. All these years, she wears the same dress. I just watched a Valentine's Day 2019 video by Blaze. He said there's no Valentine decorations. He opens up the items for sale by Valentina and he goes thru it like page 2, page 8, saying there's nothing new. He's bored: "Same things sold for years, maybe from the beginning. And the 2 pets. That's it. Nothing new." He opens up the Crown Shop and the mount is one from last year or 2 years ago and 1 new thing an aquarium with pink and red bows and hearts. So, that's a dud. Do I really feel eager to play Wizard101 during the "Valentine' event"? No. But, I'll bet after the crown sale is over and a couple days pass, something new will show up ... or worse an item from the past is brought back for sale (therefore nothing stays rare). Why can't we know what to expect so we can budget our money and/or our time to do quests? I don't think that there is a list of The Chosen Ones (official fans) meet 'n greets listed in 1 spot. We have to search out the info.

I really enjoy Neverwinter bc of the Festivals and events scattered throughout the year. Not only is it an opportunity for all races, training, and levels to play &/or battle together but you have the opportunity to win mounts, gear, elixirs. Some events the more you participate the more you earn (& sometimes the more you participate the more other players earn from your efforts). During the winter we ice fish, have mount races down an icy path. During summer we have water balloon fights and round-up chickens and pigs. When we mass battle Dragons together we fight at the same level (up for some, down for others). Then there are events that are held in honor of us, the players. We're given gifts of appreciation. For those who don't like microtransactions, these events provide a way to earn or sometimes simply be given spectacular mounts and gear. When a new world is opened, players are given items that will prepare them for more difficult battles. They can start questing right away with exactly what gear they need (not have one school's hat and another school's boots).

It isn't right when a player begins to feel dislike toward an upcoming event bc they know they'll have to buy something or beg from someone. Events should be fun with all players joining together, not being separated by the ones with the new mount vs those who simply can't afford anything at the moment. We can't even join together because there is no way to chat with all players about an event. No one from KingsIsle comes on and addresses everyone. Run is happening in 4 minutes, be in X Realm. Countdown. Or, after Run you are invited to X's Party. See X wizard about being bussed to party. There is no limited chat that says "would you like to come to the party?". There's no effort to get everyone to participate. So instead all of a sudden wizards disappear (bussed) and some wizards are left alone at the Pond. I feel bad for them. Why would I want to play a game that doesn't include everyone? Neverwinter uses their ability to inform players about what they need to know.

Another thing that Neverwinter does is have a Calendar on their launch page that tells exactly when a sale will occur: maybe gear, maybe mounts. Event schedules are given. A player can budget. It is horrible what Wizard101 does when there is a sale on the game's currency and there is something new to buy but you aren't told that in 5 days some other new thing will be launched and you've spent your currency.

Another thing about Neverwinter is that once you pay for the highest level of VIP (12 levels) you only have to buy 1 month at a time to retain all the perks. Perks not only help you be a stronger player but any player you battle with receives enhancement. A player with money can help out others. Watching the calendar you can buy VIP levels on sale. One of the perks is every single day you are given a key to a treasure chest (there are various ones) and you can win anything from epic mounts, to different types of in-game currency used to purchase gear, weapons, fashions, companions. No garbage items are in treasure chests.

Every day is different bc players also have the ability to design quests and battles. They pick an area they like from the game, choose the bad guys/creatures, choose the level of difficulty, length of quest, and they write the script. Players can give them an in-game currency as a tip. New ones are added often. There is also PVP.

There are also different Dungeons scheduled (also shown on The Calendar). There is always something new to look forward to but more importantly we can schedule with friends when to meet. Some events happen once a year, some happen more often. At least we know the schedule.

Due to tight finances in our household I'm only able to purchase memberships for my daughter and I about twice each year. (It is helpful that Kingisle offers a reduced fee for multiple household memberships.) I like it when they give out codes for free items. Even though my daughter says I'm luckier than her because I get better stuff then she does. We both play the Halloween dungeon every year with Nosferabbit. Using Monstrology, I have the creepy vampiric vegetables hopping around my Red Barn Farm. If anything is to be added: My daughter and I REALLY would like to see Pirate101 updated. We have "finished" the game and now there's nothing much left to do. I like Pirate 101 the best for the fact that it isn't as popular as Wizard 101 so there isn't as much drama involved. We've never had to ignore or delete anyone from our friends list because they're being a dork.
