The STar Wars: The Old Republic site has a new mini-interview with Creative Director Charles Boyd where he speaks about the inclusion of some pretty familiar faces in Jedi Under Siege which launched in December. He speaks about the such well-known characters as Darth Malgus, Master Gnost-Dural. He also speaks about new characters, what the team was most excited for players to find in the update and how Ossus is something different from all the other planets.

I got all excited for a second thinking they announced a new expansion. Instead it's a interview about a content patch that released a couple months ago.

While words can't describe my disappointment with this game as a whole, I did enjoy coming back for each expansion to experience the new story one time each. Not having an expansion in 2018 kind of sealed the deal for me that the game's never going anywhere, and I'd rather have the Kotor 3-6 we were told this game would be.

I had a lot of fun with this game until they implemented the GW2 styled "living world" method of releasing content. Endless Empire I think it was?
Anyway, that killed the game for me.

I keep hoping to see a reason to come back. But I think this game's days are numbered.....as is the studio......as is the IP itself.

The upcoming road map that they released Feb. 4 was rather uninspiring as well. Actually it was rather short, bleak and matter of fact without Eric's usual jovial type salesmanship. I'm willing to bet we wont hear about the rumored 6.0 expansion until the end of the year.

Didn’t they recently pull a large portion of the dev team?

After Anthem launches BioWare Edmonton will move on to Dragon Age 4 and BioWare Austin will take over Anthem.

Also, BioWare Austin has been working with BioWare Edmonton on Anthem for a while now.

Game engine is still a problem for this game.

I imagine if they had that properly tailored for swtor from launch we would have more mmo feautres.

The engine itself isn't the problem. The problem was that they bought a pre-release version of the engine and then started heavily modifying it and as result couldn't get the new engine updates, fixes and improvements anymore.

Wasn’t the budget over 100 million for this game?

Thats semantics, becuase its still the actual game engine thats the problem. I didnt even say hero engine, so if i did then you would be correct to point out the difference in engines.

I am talking about their own engine. And depsite what ever improvements they make for the engine in their latest patch, the WB becomes a slide show on Ossus.

We could have had large scale pvp for example, but will never get that. For an MMO thats not good due to engine limitations.

I wish this would come to PS4, would be the perfect casual couch game since it is a "single player MMO" in my opinion

Welp, Star Citizen budget has raised almost 200 million. And look what happened to it.

The departure from the classic conflict between Empire and Republic was a mistake. One that the latest updates are correcting.

What would be interesting, but not sure if technically possible, would be for your character to defect from a faction and play with the other faction in both flashpoints and operations.
