Sixteen years ago, Entropia Universe released, and Red Thomas ignored it. Years later, Red has a reason to try the game and gives readers his thoughts about why some players may want to give it a look.

consumers, sorry players of today. This is by far the worst game on the market for anyone!. The worlds biggest game scam!
How anyone can even think about recommending it has to make you wonder about the reviewer.
In a game where you have to pay money to grind, that's right, you have to invest money just to grind and your chances of getting anything good are minimal.
The only thing I associate with this game is the word "Ripoff".
It can't be pay to win if you have to pay... to play? o_O The whole P2W label is grossly overused. It's typically thrown out either because a developer has dared to charge real money for something cosmetic that someone wanted for free, or because some kid has just learned that everything in life isn't free. How dare anyone be creative with their revenue model? Flexibility and innovation ought to be outlawed and everyone should be forced to do a generic subscription model! Who's with me!?
Ive always thought this same thing. The world is incredibly large and i want to explore it but the time and money required to be proficient enough to explore it at all is insane. Make a sub server and i would play immediately!
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

Is there a process for getting new games added to your approved list of acceptable projects, or do we just have to wait for you to learn about them on your own and let the rest of us know when a new acceptable method of entertainment has been approved?
That said, I think you tend to spend a lot more than you collect, so you'll run out eventually and need to earn or purchase more credits. I haven't played the game a ton and can't say for sure, but it looks like you can buy a decent amount of in-game cash each month for about the same as you'd spend on any other game.
I think most MMOs aim to have players spend an average of $10-20/month. Obviously, there are a few whales and then the few who pay nothing in the F2P games. If you look at revenue verses players, most are pretty solidly clumped around that average of $15/month range, though.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Its an odd game in that it costs more at low levels than at high ones.
Also the game can technically supply you with income passively if you've bought deeds (ask the devs when you meet them, OP).
There are people who just craft ammo all day because the "jackpot craft results" are epic, but if you do play it that way a. You're missing out on the whole game and B. You are really just doing an online casino.
I do believe its worth a shot if you haven't played.
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.

The game is like a casino, cant be P2W, the more money you bring in, the more you can potentially win or lose.
The game is actually fantastic to be honest, but the population is centered on 2 planets mainly. The other planets are fantastic but if people arent there to buy your loot, it is not worth it.
Also, the guy that bought the moon or whatever made bank off of it.

But go try the game without putting any money in, finish tutorial and play for a bit.

30 cents per click, total of about 500 clicks, so $150 worth for my mining. Most of my in-game currency is tied up in land deeds .
But i hope i hit a ton even though, i'm going to lose and it is basically a slot machine with an MMO wrapped around it.

No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.
Even if someone funded your time playing -- by giving you infinite PEDs to purchase everything you want -- the game is still not fun. The fun supposedly comes from the idea that you'll make your "investment" back the longer you spend and play. As someone previously said, it's a casino that isn't provably available.

It's not just bullet. equipment degrade, that include your toon clothes and weapons to fix it cost money.
A person comes in with $100 vs a person who comes in with $25,000. They both have similar odds of winning and losing.
So you buy a bunch of skills . . . so what. You can kill bigger monsters . . . i.e. instead of doing penny slots you can do $5 slots. Still same shit. Do you know who the E is in the PvE portion. It's the fucking casino . The odds don't change.
The main PvP that goes on is in space. When traveling between planets, if you have a lot of shit to transport, then you can just warp. But if you got nothing then just fly and hope you dont' get pkd and if you do no big deal.
Check out the game, it is niche, but it isn't a scam as people say. I wouldn't recommend it the same way I wouldn't recommend going to a casino. It has a few nuances different than a casino in that you can sell stuff at markup to other players and you can get a piece of the casino profits by buying deeds.
It's an innovative game, one of the few in the MMO genre.
