i'll wait 1+ year for enough content and major fixes to drop before i buy this. I did the same with Destiny 2, got the legendary collection for $35 with all content in.
Right now Anthem has a single map. Imagine buying Destiny at full price and only comes with Earth (EDZ), or The Division with only one sector of the city... that's Anthem right now. Not really worth it at launch IMO.
I'm looking forward to the future of the game, and then i'll pay for it.

That isn't a great comparison. Anthem's Bastion is way bigger than Destiny's patrol zones, and more open.
With Destiny 1, at least, I often found myself disappointed with how linear its patrols were, how weak the mobs in patrols were, how many invisible kill zones were programmed into the map (especially on the moon), and how boring the patrol experience was.
The only real advantage I would grant to Destiny's patrols are event frequency and quality of life UI. Anthem needs to turn up the frequency of world events and needs to mark their locations when an ally discovers one.

I don't know.. Destiny 2 EDZ has more lost sectors than Anthem has hidden caves. Anthem has the events, caves and a lot of empty space. Destiny has fewer events, lost sectors, rare bosses, adventures, patrols and a lot less wasted space...
I think EDZ wins it, personally. Destiny 2 EDZ anyway.
Comparing to Destiny 1 is pointless, that game is done and we have both Destiny 2 and Anthem in the now.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
their plan should be to recall that dumpster fire game, and give it 1 more year of development like it should have had instead of releasing something that was subpar and obviously not ready for release.
Not very impressive really. Worse than I expected. Mastery system I'm curious about.
Caches sound like they might be lootboxes.
Having to wait 3 MONTHS for the cataclysm to start is bullshit. That stuff should be happening at least once a week for a couple days each time.
The fact that you're unimpressed means jack shit boyo. soooo theres that.
The fact that you think the caches are loot boxes without watching the stream in which they discussed it means you literally have NEVER payed attention to any info about the game from the devs and pay attention to the angry mob that is angry for no reason.

This just looks like typical "AAA" game post launch content, there's nothing stand out for me and going by the Skill Up review which is really in-depth it’s going to take way more than this to fix the games issues.
So wait three months for the first big content update, got it. Thanks for spending your hard earned cash too early so I have a better idea of when to join in.
I am one who gave the game bad marks during the demo. I actually uninstalled it in under an hour. Now that I have played the released version I don't think the game is really bad at all.
I see content locust bitching and whining about content that they just blew through. These people are the reason I play games like this solo, which is what I am doing other than the forced grouping in strongholds. I take my time loot everything don't fly to every little maker as soon as it pops up. Overall I play shooters solo an in that respect this game is actually not bad at all.
I played about 10 hours so far in total only level 10. I have came across two major bugs. One was the end of a stronghold where we killed the boss and got the disconnection error. Just force closed the game reopened it and was fixed, still got the loot and xp from finishing it. The next was the quest where you have to find the 2 mobs at the end, killed them both and nothing, ended up having to close the quest out in the map by holding down F. Will give it another go tomorrow, read some ideas how to get it to complete.
I think the saddest thing I have seen is the people that rushed through all he game had as fast as they could then complain. It is the same with every game that comes out the days, the entire got to be the first and the fastest. To each their own.
The loading screens haven't been a problem for me since the release either, the demo was actually a different story though. It takes maybe 45 secs to load into something at the longest. Think the average load for me has been about 25 to 30 secs. That is 25 to 30 secs of waiting for a 15 to 20 mins mission if I am exploring and doing my own thing. Again each their own. Think a lot of people are playing on older machines that just can't handle the game.
For me I have changed from a do not recommend to a recommend for people that like to explore and take it slow or play solo. The game is actually decently put together.

4Chan is that way ------------------------------->
EDIT: Why can I not embed images anymore?
Bartoni's Law definition: As an Internet discussion grows volatile, the probability of a comparison involving Donald Trump approaches 1.
I see that the lootbox backlash has had some effect. Interesting to see and I wish we had taken more concrete steps earlier to make sure this scourge never shadow our games again.
Copies of Anthem were given out to refugees on the Syrian/Turkey border. Officials had not planned for such an influx and were embedding them in the blankets and first aid kits given to incoming survivors of war to the tent complex.
We asked an 8 year old boy, who gave us his name Abbad, what he thought of the free gift.
"Why did they give this to me? Haven't we suffered enough?"
We asked Bioware and EA for comment, but they declined.

If this is the case Bioware/EA really needs to do away with their pre-order early access program because apparently all the content up to the full release date is subject to change and not the actual release product so they only have themselves to blame for the consumers misrepresentation of their own game.

The demo was available to anyone who wanted to try the game; no pre-order or anything needed.
Origin Access members got it before those who bought the game - as part of the monthly or yearly membership; Anthem being just one of the games members can play of course.
So - I think - those interested in buying the game have had an opportunity to try it out. And if they did and didn't like it I would hope they didn't buy it.
I think this - relatively low key marketing campaign - is a much better approach than having a huge campaign that tries to make the game be all things to all people to drive sales to recover costs. Such campaigns, that can add considerable cost, will - almost inevitably - end up with some people feeling "cheated".
There might be people "disappointed" - including some who have clearly not tried the game it seems - but I reckon this is better than having people feel "cheated".
And using Origin Access as part of the roll out process seems like a win to me as well. There might be people in 6 months time who get it to try a different game and give Anthem a try just because ... and go on to buy it (and by then hopefully they will have fixed the bugs that simply should not be there, yes some get missed but ..)
I question the design team and/or lead for having thought using so many loading screens was ok. it isn't ok.
Having said that with the day one patch the load times are much better for me. I think the game is really fun.. found a couple legendaries that made things interesting to boot.

The fanboys: GAME IS FINE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. YOU JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO CODE!!!!!!
60 days plan: 50% off
90 days plan: 75% off
Actually no, but I'm not the only shitposter in the world so..
I think your time line is a bit generous. I believe the price drop to almost ftp levels with in 60 days.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

My mistake. I assumed it was Bioware that had used the term "big". Not sure why the article did in retrospect.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
