If progression servers are you bailiwick, you may be interested to note that Funcom is planning an Anarchy Online progression server in 2019. According to the game's Facebook page, "Anarchy Online's 2019 server invites you on a voyage across space...and time! Start fresh with original content from launch, then experience additional expansions and level caps over time. Coming soon!"

..yes, because 30k years into the future, there will still be some "heroes| who will use a .. Hammer to "punch" his enemies.
Makes sense..
Anyway , I remember I tried AO in .. 2005? Didn't like it back then and I will surely not like it today.
Good luck .. I guess!
Well, who knows... from what we already know, hammers are still widely used as weapons 40k years into the future
Also according to Black Panther Wakanda is the most technologically advanced country in the world.
Anarchy Online was a pretty bad ass game back in the day. I love Sci-fi so that probably helped a bit. I don't know how you couldn't like it back in 2005 though. I understand how someone could feel like that today though.
This may still not be enough for some, but then again, it was never a game for the masses to begin with.
You stay sassy!
The recent Funcom Twitch promo for this wasn't ready to talk about the full details. I have no interest in playing a fresh server, old school MMORPG with a cash shop reflective of their current servers. They hinted of it being limited to a degree, but I'll wait for the details before committing.
They are using their current patch level mechanics, much the same way as Lotro just did for their own fresh servers. I'm not sure if this will impact the experience at this point.
You stay sassy!
You can see my sci-fi/WW2 book recommendations.
On this server, they'll need to dial it back with the cash shop.
Vanilla grind won't be bad, but when AI XP and Research hits, yikes!
I'm going to just roll my top 3 favorite professions this time around. 1 solo, 1 raid support, 1 pvp until they release Shade. lol
Sadly Docs suck. I can't die, but I can't kill anything either. I rolling one anyways because they are too fun and I am a dummy.
Back on point:
Limit the cash shop to cosmetics
Address Agents CH AS (without killing the profession)
Limit multiboxing
Fix any exploits/dupes
A shared bank -OR- Larger bank space since we won't have froob bank alts (which will be another issue) -OR- make NO DROP twinking items account bound so we can mail bags (not individual items) to ourselves.
I'm still going to play even if they do none of that stuff, but it would be great if they did.
Never going to happpen though, who am I kidding.
/Cheers,
Lahnmir
Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer
I still recall after only having played games like Asheran's Call and Everquest I try this game and am amazed by their skill system and the way you advanced your characters buying those syringe looking skills. Every aspect of this game from the unique classes like Metaphysicist, Fixer and Engineer to the grid travelling system made me goggle. I so loved this game.
Yes I would play on a progression server for sure.
