One of my favorite characters was my Tailor/Shipwright/Artisan/Merchant. I'd always have a great time making players new clothes, coming up with "iconic" and "star warsy" costumes to match the ones from the movies. Just going to Theed and shouting "Making custom clothing on the spot!" would get me hours of work, and making people look better was very satisfying.
It went well with my Musician/Dancer/ID that I used to keep running on a second computer, every so often I would ID myself to look like Luke and put on the outfit from RotJ, complete with the proper saber hilt and green crystal and go out PvP'ing that and the hawt pants, it was all about the hawtpants!
Of course, can't have a tailor/shipwright combo anymore, and Jedi have to wear the lame robes or loot mis-matched clothes for less protection so you can't have fun wearing the outfits you like.
The 3 favorites I settled on ( 3 seperate accounts ) were
#1 Master Droid Engineer. Was my first character "Wookie to boot". I was always trying to make the perfect probot.
#2 Master Bio-Engineer/Carbineer. Like DE was always on the hunt for better DNA and with good medic skills and carbineer thrown in the mix was pretty self sufficient on DNA/resource hunts.
#3 CH/Ranger with some pistoleer thrown in for good measure. This one was probably my most self sufficient and capable all around "go out and have fun" toon, plus benefited from all the goodies my MBE made.
Armorsmith for me!!!! Was one for two and a half years made some of the best armour on the server, loved experimenting with different combinations of resources. Sounds sad but i once stayed awake for two days straight messing about trying to make the lowest HAM armor I could make but those were the days when I was a uni student lol. I loved searching for resource spots and surveying on different planets and I loved hunting for hide. Best part for me was knowing that I was making the best possible armour and that it actually affected the players ability to go out their and kill high end mobs.
It is a massive shame SOE decided to piss on crafting and the the player based economy in favour of a loot based with the NGE (level based combat will always decrease the effectiveness of armor and weapons) and I doubt this will ever be addressed.

Master Dancer/Master Tailor. I couldn't fight at all but boy did I look good in my own hand made exotic leotards up there buffing all my beloved combat babies to go out and face the galaxy, or healing their fatigue and mind wounds after a hard day's fighting, and entertaining the heck out of them at the same time--joking with them, flirting, just having an all round good time. Or as a tailor, helping some poor, fashion challenged guy whose idea of style was a black t shirt and sending him out of my shop looking like a spread from GQ.
Then came the holocraze and the rampant buffbotting that they refused to do anything about, followed by the CU, which killed any real utility for entertainers to the combat game. There were days it really seemed like SOE was out to kill entertaining (I guess they were, since that's what they did). Tailors got virtually no usable new art (they still haven't--oh, wait, we did get a full set of patterns for Ithorians, that hugely popular race!). And then with the NGE, I wasn't even able to mix entertaining and crafting anymore. I'd cancelled a few weeks before the NGE, but that convinced me not to come back.
SOE, I hope you all die lingering, painful deaths and then spend eternity being butt buddies to demons in the ninth circle of Hell for your deliberate destruction of a great game.
very nice to see how many of you took up on crafting roles. I never got into the crafting, only the resource trade business, so I always hoped that other players would take on that role.
Thanks all of you for having made that game work. U rock!
Rangers were definitly my cup of tea. No stress and plenty of fun orders to complete! The cool thing about SWG was that people actually MADE quests to you. So freaking amazing.
Rangers received little or no love from the devs, but so was also the case with everything in the entire game since they weren't even trying to fix it.
And I hate the people who said rangers were worthless because the +50 Harvesting on Master Ranger DID A FREAKING LOT I tell you. I harvested tons of more resources than any other scout or ranger!
After comes Creature Handler, even though not so many chosed to play it (which I can understand since the devs made them so WORTHLESS duuuh!!!) everyone loved them! And they had so much character and you never stoped loving em and their pets.

1st Generation BH was my favorite profession. MMarks, MScout, and the Investigation tree before mounts when you had to guess which starport the NCP was going to head to and try to beat them there.
Back then BH was the hardcore profession and the title was prestigious. That was before all the BH nerfs which left the BH as a secondary combat class and not a top tier fighter. Pretty stupid in most of our opinions for the ammount of SP required to master the profession.

But I'm not bitter.

PRE-CU / NGE,
I was a Master Bounty Hunter / Master Pistoleer / CM 4400 (Jango Fett Template)...I miss those days!
Master Doctor/Master Swordsman with the rest of the points here and there
Hauken Stormchaser
I want pre-CU back
Station.com : We got your game
Yeah?, Well i want it back!!!
Commando/TKM was my favorite. But I had to go Jedi cause it was there. (I won best Commando award of Shadowfire in 2003)
Then Master Power Jedi was my fav.
I spent many hours at the Krayt graveyard waiting for a Rebel or a Bounty Hunter to show up and when they did, they'd meet my huge brown freinds.
To pass time while waiting for an overt Reb, I'd make two Krayt's fight and when a Pearl seeker came around I"d sic them on em.
Gawd I miss pre-CU SWG.......
Thanks all of you for having made that game work. U rock!
