When players land on Kepler in Population Zero, they will need to find ways to protect themselves from all the things (and there are a lot!) that can kill them. One of the first things everyone will need is something to cover their bodies with, and on Kepler, there are two distinct types of gear players will need: Costume and Armor.

when did you start playing MMOs? Unless you somehow played MMOs before they existed? UO had massive customization, so did EQ. People loved dressing up. Why play a game with thousands of other people to be the exact same?
Well that's definitely one way to play a game, or you play a mmo where you would do things that made it so you could do unique things if you put in enough time. RO and FFXI were such mmorpgs that had levels of playstyle customization that rewarded those that invested a large degree of time. RO wasn't really a fashion game at its time and was more about getting rare cards and items that allowed you to either do unique things (like giving one class another classes skills) or having an easier time fighting in various areas that had various elemental strengths/weaknesses. FFXI chose to minimize 'gear sets' so to speak in favor of just making those items that could drop do unique things and be worth the time trying to get. In most chases, the items just so happened to look cool which added to the item's uniqueness, Of course both games have changed dramatically given that they existed for almost 2 decades, but going through those environments, it was more than just collect things to play dress up with. I wasn't familiar with games like UO/EQ at the time, so of course it could've been the norm for those who played those games and even became a more mainstream norm once wow came into the picture, but even in vanilla, most of the 'cool' looking stuff was from the hardest stuff in the game which also had some of the best (if not the best) things for the classes that could get them depending on the content they were trying to do.
But if you look at the images that word seems apt .
