I really did like anthem, I liked the combat, story was ok though it felt incomplete especially once you beat the main story its just grinding placeholder quests really. My problem isn't even so much the loot, its not the missed roadmap though in a way it is connected.
My problem is the content from 1-5 is the same content 25-30 which happens to also be the same content after max. They did nothing with the open world, very little mission variety if any, no specialization which would created some separation from a low rank javelin and a high rank. Very little variety in weapons.. you know what just to shorten it, little variety at all.
The other thing is they have combos set up for your javelin and cross class combos you can do but very little incentive to use them, you will perform just fine aiming and spraying, sure you can be more effective but its not really needed. So many lost opportunities.
I really hope they don't screw up Mass Effect when/if they actually do bring it back... I don't know about this team.

the game's been out for two months, give 'em a break, they'll fix it.
And it was in development for six years, so fuck no.
While it was in development for six years, the game was build in 18 months or so. Also the lead designer died during the production and the Frostbite engine was never designed for a game like Anthem.
No surprise here, they showed us how incompetent they really are since first month.
Maybe Anhtem will be a decent game, a game worth paying and playing in a year or so ...
Provided they don't give it the ME:A treatment and drop the updates altogether.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

EA forcing them to use Frostbite is probably the biggest reason the game had (and still has) so many technical issues. Had they used say, Unreal Engine, few of us would be having this conversation, and Bioware would likely be churning out content and balancing the game at a much faster rate.
I'm not absolving Bioware of all responsibility for the (initially fun) mess which is Anthem, but EA definitely played a large part in f*cking things up for them. It's such a shame.

and that is a player problem because?
you know the more you let it go, more crap they will do, better grind then now then maybe in the future they will make better things
unless of course you don't belive they can do better, and you just want something to keep teh addiction going
It is not a coincidence that Studios (in plural) under EA are doing badly in the last few years. Bioware with ME, DA, Anthem and DICE with Battlefield.
EA leadership is the one pushing the limits here no matter how obviously bad the results are. It's all about their money.
shitpost train still going strong i see, still better playing game than most out there, sad ltitle foaming at the mouth neckbeards see fit to shitpost every bioware game since they have mental disabilities and cant let go of emotional attachment to video game series

That gives far too much credit to EA for being the one at fault, and not enough credit to the obvious and glaring faults at Bioware and other studios.
Same with people blaming Activision for Blizzard's blunders.
The old-Gods of game development have just lost their magic. Can't blame the publishers for that every time - a good chunk of the minds and talent behind the great games we all know and love have moved on, retired, started new companies, gone indie, etc.
You'll find article after article and story after story about burn out from AAA dev studios that has nothing to do with the publisher and everything to do with toxic and/or crunch culture within the studio, bad leadership, bad decision making etc.
Publishers are investors, they want to see what they are pumping their money into be successful. They don't want to ruin products, but you have to remember there are two sides to every story.
Why do games like Anthem get pushed back and pushed back and then finally "forced" to release early/before they are complete?
Because the devs have screwed up so badly and the game is never going to live up to what it was supposed to be - and a smart investor knows when to cut their loses on a bad bet.
If a publisher/developer knows they are sitting on gold and just need more time - they get it. Look at Rockstar or CD Projekt Red for example.

That is pretty much guaranteed to happen. Player activity is dropping alarmingly and if this trend continues, EA will pull the plug. Just like it did with ME:A.
There is no point in keep pouring money into this clueless dev team, who keep making things worse, instead of better. Chasing more and more players away with each patch. It's basically DeJaVu a la ME:A all over again.
I am starting to fear for a quality Dragon Age 4 game... Hell I'm starting to fear a quality Bioware anything game.... I waited for the reviews on Andromeda.. didn't buy it, and waiting on the reviews for this and reading forums etc.. and again didn't buy it... I don't believe the Bioware we knew and loved exists anymore.
This article is basically the nuts and bolts to why I've grown to hate fellow gamers. Just get back to your Fortnite it's all your brain can handle.
Remember the glory days where the biggest problems of WoW was class balancing? Yea...anthem and every other game on the block has balancing and loot issues when it starts. It's the nature of the beast.
Plus I'm sure many of the gamers that frequent mmorpg.com are full time gamers (streamers or otherwise) and so they are content locusts so their wants and needs should be put on the back burner.
Get tired of the kids always wanting that fresh new carrot. It used to be the saying that millenials required a carrot to move. Now they are calling for the brand name carrots and it better be a shiney bright orange one to boot!
Can't bleed a rock.
