As a player on a private server you wouldn't be targeted yourself. If you were participant in hosting a private server then that would make you liable.

Though also of note, South Korea does not share the same laws regarding private servers, and are a bit more lax in some regards. It's part of why there are many Lingeage 2 private servers that just have not been touched. Ones outside Korea have been shut down in the past, but that was also because the international branches of NCSoft maintain regional licenses.

Which in the case of CoH, the only license still held for that title is held by the main branch in South Korea, NCSoft West let all their titles for CoH lapse already.

It amazes me at the amount of attacks that people heap upon anyone with a differing opinion.

Only when people present their opinions as facts, or in such a way as to assault others. Just because you have a differing opinion doesn't mean you have to share it. Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.
Agreed. That is why I called you out on your abandonware opinion. Your own source contradicted what you said, freedom of speech is indeed not freedom of consquences. When I got some WTFs however I realised it isn’t about other opinions, its about emotional entitlement and trying to mitigate the discomfort that comes from being confronted with your own morally ambigious behaviour.

What you say goes both ways and both sides have definitely contributed, so lets not act like this behaviour has been one sided.

I literally quoted from my link that proved you were incorrect. But yet again you insist your opinion is fact when it is not.  I have no more time for your foolishness.
Ahh, I love a good snarky comment in the morning. I could respond in kind but that would be too easy. Lets just deconstruct what you are saying here.

I literally quoted from my link that proved you were incorrect. I just reread the whole thread to find your quote and found "It can refer to a product that is no longer available for legal purchase..." I also found my own quote responding to that, coming from your own link: A difference between abandonware and a discontinued product is that the manufacturer has not officially 'discontinued' the software, but only ended their official efforts at technical support. I guess you weren't the only one presenting evidence, you didn't respond to my quote though as I did to yours.

But yet again you insist your opinion is fact when it is not. Now this is interesting because you keep trumping my opinions with yours, even going as far as stating that freedom of speech is not freedom without consequences, so it is ok for you to put people in their place I guess. Perhaps your opinions are worth more then others? Fortunately I am fully aware that my statements are not facts or set in stone, I'll just quote myself again so you don't have to look it up: We can most definitely debate that, I was just referring to the definition quoted. You missed that too I guess, so far it seems your opinions are presented as more fact then mine, enough to ridicule other opinions anyway.

Believe whatever makes you feel warm and curdled inside. I will, thank you!

I have no more time for your foolishness. Besides being snarky and putting people in their place you haven't really contributed anything so this comment holds little weight, the false air of superiority has been noted though.

Now that was fun wasn't it? Perhaps leave the condescending comments at home next time and actually read what is written. Let me leave you with a little saying: "When you point a finger at someone three are pointing back at you." Do with that what you like, I have derailed this thread enough so I will quit responding.

    /Cheers,
    Lahnmir

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

I've played COH and I don't get why it's so hyped compared to Champions Online and DCUO.  Am I missing something?

You're missing your nostalgia goggles
(I'm biased though, I left CoH when Cryptic did, and I still prefer CO over CoH)

CoH is hyped because it was the first, and it really was good and fun. It had a lot of unique features and good ideas.
I did once a post about the comparison of the two, without repeating it I just say both CoH and CO have their pros and cons, none of them clearly better or worse than the other, it's up to personal tastes which you like more, or like both equally.

Come on CoH is the better MMO, from lore to gameplay you don't need super intelligence to work that one out. You have made wonder, if CO had been dropped instead of CoH would so many be missing CO? I doubt it, but for one or two maybe. :)

This is my last post on this site. I will delete my account after this. The double standard of the article is something I don't get.
I notice you still have not deleted your account. Here let me help you. Go to the main site , click on the MMORPG logo on top and then log into your account from there and then click on to your profile. On the right in red is 'Delete your MMORPG account'. Hope that helps.
Come on guys, lets keep calm and carry on gaming. :)
Says the guys derailing the thread with off-topic shit posts. You should post your address here so we could pitch in and send you flags so you can continue signalling in semaphore.
You clearly got out of the wrong side of the bed for this thread, so I am not biting. :)

I really didn't enjoy CO nor DCUO and I am genuinely enjoying myself on COH. Perhaps it is some nostalgia but I just find the grouping and power use so much fun and I never found that in CO. DCUO's attacks system was something I truly detested. Tap right mouse button six times and so on was really what killed DCUO for me. I was really entranced by the world and lore and would have loved it if I could get past their combo attack system.

Example of a macro set up for DCUO if you don't want to do it manually. Why in heaven's name did they go with this horrible system? ( I apologize to those of you that like this but WTF!!!)

For me it's all about the archetypes. In CO you can make one of your characters have any kind of power and I really dislike that about the game as a whole. Also not a huge fan of the comic booky graphics (I know, I know, but it just doesn't look right to me). My favorite CoH archetype to play is illusion and it has never really been remade in either CO or DCUO so they never really scratched the itch for me. Oh and yeah, DCUO's combat is absolutely horrible.
