If there weren't so many expansions and DLC's you have to buy to get up to date I would definitely play.

Dude you know that with the ESO Plus membership you have access to ALL DLC's of the game?
They have a very great policy about expansions and DLC imo, i just think that their Crown Shop Items are too expansive

Or - option 1 - just buy any basic type edition for - typically under $10. Even the base game launched with a huge amount of content.

Or - option 2 - buy the most recent "collection" - or maybe the last but one! There is usually an new one launched sometime after new content is released that contains almost all of the content - the latest probably won't contain the most recent expansion. Probably but it depends on how long after it launches. In addition to the huge amount of content there are even more huge amounts of contents to play. And the collections are not that expensive.

And - because of the scaling - you can start with the most recent content. Although worth noting that c. 80%+ of your time adventuring you will not be scaled - just enough to get you started. And also worth pointing out that because of the scaling there is no "these are the starter zones", these are the end game zones etc. And because of the mega-server approach you will probably find someone anywhere you go.

Not quite right I don't think.
I could be wrong as I find their monetization confusing but I think buying that gives you all the expansions but NOT the DLC.  The DLC is included in a sub or by buying it individually using crown points.

    I think...

I just am running the base game plus sub which I think includes Morrowind and maybe Summerset now that Elswyer has released.. not sure... but theres far too much stuff for me to do right now to worry about adding even more :)

for that one month yes. Overall its a very fair f2p model easily one of the best. My issue is they really sucker punch people who buy crowns because they will not let you buy the expansions for crowns until they become irrelevant you must buy the expansions with cash not crowns but you can get all of the dlc for crowns. Like it wont be until next year that you can get elswyre with your crowns.

loool sky shards in the crown store? For real? I never noticed that. I guess they gotta keep up with GW2 selling Waypoints. Either way I will never buy them, cool for those who think it's a plus, but for me it's getting too close to the p2w edge. It's mostly intended for alts because you need to have gotten all of the skyshards in a zone in order to buy them. You can't just drop in as a brand new player and buy all of them.

I feel the same (about your necromancer comments).

Probably he worst class fantasy I've ever seen. The class is alright mechanically but it is not a Necro.

Sad to hear about the Necro class. Will wait with buying anyways. I am just halfway through Summerset and missed almost entire Morrowind except for the Warden class, which is my main.

about to hit the sack after playing ESO, but real quick to clarify, if you sub you DO get access to ALL DLC with the exception of whatever is new. The newest one you always have to buy. So if you are a new player, sub right now you get all the content to do except Elsweyr. If you are a new player you shouldn't worry about the latest xpac anyway as there is literally a whole month worth of content for you to do anyway. My advice is to play the base game first, for FREE btw and if you like it, SUB, then get through some of the other DLCs included with your subscription and enjoy the journey. ESO is not a game where you need to rush through everything.

As far as Necro to each his own, Some misinformation here though..  there ARE necro pets but they aren't perma pets, I'm glad its that way, ESO didn't need another perma pet based class. You could just play Warden or Sorc for Pet based classes. Also, a perma pet necro breaks immersion badly.

God quit whining about necro pets people! They clearly said it's not pet based and what they did implement made total sense. A raised from the dead skeleton shouldn't be able to walk for miles and miles and adventure with you all over Tamriel. Based on the lore of ESO so far how they've done it considering decay makes perfect sense... that being said *Clears Throat*

YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO SUMMON A LICH DO YOU KNOW HOW POWERFUL THOSE THINGS ARE?? SO EVERYONE IS JUST SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO SUMMON AND UNSUMMON A LICH?? TRY TELLING A LICH OKAY IM DONE GO HOME NOW.

Sorry for yelling, but seriously for the people in the back, how they did it makes perfect sense lore wise. ESO is heavy on the Lore and RP. I'm glad it's not a generic fantasy necromancer. This ESO version of the necromancer is much more versatile.

ESO's Necro class does, in fact, focus on Undeath and Summons it's just not permanent its part of your abilities... stam or mag, tank, dps and heals are all equally strong.  As a CLASS in ESO, its far from disappointing. Not perfect, but definitely not disappointing. It's a verrry interesting class.

Play it yourself, get one to lvl 50/CP160 and decide for yourself. Don't Let the forum tell you "no skip"... dude experience it.  I made my own Dark Paladin/Life Drain type of character, I have a 2h/bow stamcro/Redguard (omg the stam morphs) at level 35 and so far it's sick. Tanky and hits like a truck. TBH I feel like its OP so far but that's another conversation...  Experiment!

Alright, that's my post for the month, gotta get ready for tomorrow. My friends and I are going drogon hunting in Else-Where.  As always, I'm open to help any new players in game pm me here and I will send you my info! Lonhe mangai friends!

Summerset if officially SUB/DLC content now ? I know the pattern has been to unlock all previous content as a new chapter is released but I didn't think it (Summerset) was officially released to sub accounts, Yet...

The effects of dragons fire were a bit over the top on GoT.  It didn't just burn, it would explode at times on impact.  Other times it would penetrate like acid and burn the flesh right off the bones, leaving darkened skeletons.  Special effect at there best.  You can try to apply real life physics to a fantasy shows but it's best to just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

I agree it's just not the same.  It may be lore friendly but being use to GW2, AoC, and even Skyrim and other Elder Scroll games that can be modded so easily. It feels like a copy of the Warden with spell effects change to an undead theme instead of nature.  Number one talent is ability to use corpses to fuel their abilities which is different and you have to be careful what you use when in towns or the cities but spells are clearly noted in red as being illegal.

Overall most people love it the way it is but I wouldn't be surprised if it got nerfed after awhile because I hear it very strong in PvP.

Still I think it's a good class with interesting core abilities that should have good synergies with mage guild, dark brotherhood, and other skill lines.
