Now that the breakup with Activision is complete, Bungie is looking ahead to "a new era" for Destiny 2. While there are literally no details about what that might mean, Bungie has promised to provide more details in the future. Right now, the focus is on Season of Opulence and the awarding of Raid belts, but plans are seemingly already in motion.

We don't know what features were instigated at the request of AB - lootboxes maybe? - but I wouldn't be surprised if D2 morphs closer to D1. I would certainly expect Bungie to want to "boost" D2 in advance of D3. (If there is a D3).
Wonder whether we will ever see a "merged" Destiny.
If you build a game as a service, why do you feel forced to split and fragment your community
Should have sticked with a single Destiny, and move forward
I loved it at the start. A very good story that took you through the PvE zones. Then the story stopped and they wanted you to grind for gear and weapons in different player vs player themes. Then the story would continue in PvE, rinse and repeat.
Loved the story, the combat, the classes, like you stated being able to hop in and out allowed a lot of control over your gaming time. I also would install and uninstall until one day I decided, no more. I usually never uninstall a game if I plan on returning to it one day.

Also for the of God give us space combat or at least let us actually walk around and decorate our ships like in warframe. Right now ships in Destiny are just... screensavers.
