In a brief announcement on the Crowfall forums, Director of Community Valerie Massey has announced that Artcraft and Travian Games have parted ways. Travian and Artcraft originally inked an EU publishing deal in 2016. The end of the partnership is effective today. No reason was cited for the break up.

And this matters to my point how? It does not, but thanks for pointing out what is clearly obvious on artcrafts website.

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Before you true believers pounce I'd like to ask you if you've played the game lately and how much time you've put into the game. I've spent about 100 hours total now, tried every class and engaged in every activity the game has to offer. MY opinion after that time spent in the game is as follows...
1. New player experience sucks. Crafting to "advance" is too much like a survival game and even more tedious because it takes longer.
2. Combat needs improvement, feels like melee classes are hitting air.
3. Classes are unbalanced and nothing has been reworked in the time I've been playing that shows they are planning to change anything. The unbalance means the meta will be just a bunch of ppl rolling meta classes and there will be no class variety. Watch Zybak's video with him and his 3 stealth buddies ganking, it's like a moba with a full team of ADC just wiping entire teams and that brings me to the next issue...
4. The game feels like moba, a survival moba. There is no rpg at all, it is a PVP game with advancement tacked on which makes it count as an MMO but definitely not an MMORPG.
I want this game to succeed but in the time I've been playing haven't seen any behavior by AC that shows they are willing to make the necessary changes to make the game anything more than a minimum viable product.
The Shadowbane and Koster name recognition has faded for me and SWG( pre CU/NGE) was my first and favorite MMORPG.
The game is a PvP game, it's never even tried to say it was anything other than a Massive Realms vs Realms PvP game.
So I can understand if it feels like a PvP game.
I totally agree with you that the combat and animation, needs work, it does not feel like you are affecting your hit-box and the like.
And I agree that balance is still a huge joke, which, all things said and done, will kill this game faster than anything else, if things stay that way when it goes live.
1) It's a PvP game, always has been, from day friggin one. The fact that he didn't know this speaks volumes.
2) It's in an alpha phase. No shit it's not as polished as WoW.
“Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?”

But reality is, a lot of times, unless it's painfully obvious, reasons for ceasing service are often lame ass, commonly they simply did not come to a good pricing agreement regarding what services they wanted and what they wanted to pay for it. So as opposed to boring us all with office drivel, they said "ya know, it just didn't work out"
