imageBethesda to Provide New Fallout 76 Players with a 'Smoother Path' in Next Update - MMORPG.com

When the next Fallout 76 update is deployed, new characters will find a "smoother path" ahead. New characters will find "more gradual introductions to some of the game's mechanics and challenges". For instance, players under level 15 will have a better disease resistance and Challenge rewards will feature items and supplies to make surviving the Wasteland a bit easier. There may also be some creature difficulty reductions in certain locations.

I think it's a good move. First steps in the game can be overly harsh, particularly for those who haven't played a FO game before.

I didn't think it was harsh at the start. I actually found it far too simple and easy. We did have someone in our group that had never played a Fallout game before and they only got by because me and another could tell them how everything works or how to play... optimally.

Why not just remove food degradation completely? It's a loser's move when there's a mechanic that means you love finding cans of dog food. I mean, that's what happens.. everyone ignores all the other food and just eats old world stuff that doesn't spoil and use a radaway after. Less messing around and you don't end up filling your bag and storage with unwanted fertiliser as a side effect.

Well that or the people playing want to pretend to be Mad Max, and not Viggo Mortensen's character from The Road.

    Nope

For me, the game is very fun until you start hitting the 20s, then the difficulty spikes unless you have the right build and gear. That's where it needs to be smoothed.

I don't think there is anything they could do to get me to play it. Good for those who do though, I guess...

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Sorry, you only get one shot to grab me: Launch. If you mess this up, I am not going to play at all. (I did not purchase the game, I played beta) For most people, even those who bought it, this is the case. Fallout 76 has been and continues to be a failure of spectacular proportions. We can't keep supporting games that release as garbage just because they get better eventually. Games need to be good at launch; not 1-2 years down the line when you could have picked it up for far less then the original price. There are simply too many good online service type games for anyone to think about going back and playing a failed one.

I think White Springs and Charleston are a bit harsh for their intended level due to the people that hang out around there significantly increasing the mobs level. For instance one of the first quests you get at White Springs is to kill 10 unruly golfer ghouls, but with all the level 100s nuking the golf course chances are you will never see an unruly golfer ghoul.

There is a reviewer on Twitter, can't remember her name who was saying she still gets people tweeting "9/10" for a review she did over ten years ago, just think of it as part of the rich tapestry that is MMORPG.com. :)

Well, that is a sad story tbh. In your eyes a company cannot redeem themselves after a lackluster launch. In my eyes companies like "Hello Games" has shown me that persistence sometimes trumps a bad launch

I won't even "think" of buying this crappy game until it's put on Steam like is should of been in the first place.

Only thing that video is missing is an icon to a cash shop and a popup to the new 'dlc.'

FO76, the game that exposed Bethesda as a shameful developer. I doubt they can fix the game enough to really change opinions, instead they would be better served by making sure their next game is not FO76. They lost a lot of respect as a development studio, the only real way they are going to regain it is by making sure they make a good game, whether they can do that with their game engine as old as it is, well we can only hope, but the last thing they need is to pull yet another Bethesda. :/

Back in my day, they just had game manuals. They explained complex concepts such as names of the buttons on a NES controller. The picture of the controller with a button labeled 'A' wasn't enough, so they had to draw a line to the button and provide the name, 'A button'. Believe It or Not! (see page 3)

I don't know this guy, so I don't know what you want.

But if you talking about originality, we will remember original 7/10 for Fallout 76 at launch.

This portal don't know any shame.
