It’s the day AMD fans have long been awaiting: the launch of a brand new generation of CPUs and GPUs from AMD. We were lucky enough to get the new AMD Radeon RX 5700 and 5700 XT in house to test ahead of launch. They’re built on the new RDNA architecture and bring neat features such as Anti-Lag the promise a competitive edge, but are they the next-generation leap we’ve been hoping for?

It also seems that the 1% low framerates are down a bit compared to average framerates than the RTX Super cards, so while average fps may be better than the 2060 Super in many games, the worst drops could be more noticeable. Some games favor AMD and some favor Nvidia, so gaming performance can swing in either direction depending on the game and its optimization.
If price/performance is the most important thing and you have no interest in bothering with raytracing, AMD is the clear winner here. And if there is professional work to be done, AMD is better. The blower coolers on these AMD reference cards have them running pretty hot and getting pretty loud, though, so I'd wait to see what their partners put out. They're not supposed to throttle until 110C, but some folks have them hitting 90C in open air test benches, so who knows what they'll get to inside a case when overclocked.
While for some I think that may be the case.. for most of us it's not. Frankly I don't care which one is better beyond which one is best and cheaper for my needs. Now in two of the PC I just want a general all round good gaming gpu so I want best price/performance which may indeed be the amd gpu and for the third PC which will be built for VR I need the best performing gpu which I think will most likely be the rtx super 2080/Ti.
That said most of us are aware of the stupid price hike that occurred due to the bitcoin craze and that both AMD and Nvidia are milking the hell out of it..the problem is many gamers are just acclimatizing to new higher prices like sheep that just don't care. While those of us that do can't just stay with our old GPU forever and need to get new one's eventually whether we like the new pricing scheme or not.
I mean really my gtx760 cards were good but they are just not up to it for much longer.....so I need to upgrade whether I want to or not at these prices.

Well, that was a bad choice, unless you couldn't wait anymore, as RTX's have been announced by then, and released 6 months ago in January(?).
So, for the same price, you could of by a RTX 2060 which is a very, very good card and is almost the same in terms of performances with a RX 5700.
And since they've just launched new stuff it'll likely be 2020 before they make their own 7nm launches.
