I'm a options guy when it comes to games, the more the better. Nothing worse then playing a game and being pigeonholed into a specfic class or race or gender. I want to create the character i WANT and so should everyone else !

With all that said I have to wonder why anyone would give a shit about the box cover art ? Do people display games on their shelf , is this a thing ? Are people still even buying boxed ? I'm assuming console. So many questions, so little sense . Seems like a trivial request. many games have featured a
grizzled Male protagonist on every single one of its games all of a sudden this is a issue or a request...cmon lol

I have a feeling this is more politically / socially motivated then anything else, lets cut the bullshit here and just be honest. Ahhh it's all so tiresome..... the Propaganda and passive aggressive bullshit that come with it

I just want to play games.......and if you are here, so should you.

Yes agree, And its all so tiresome. People are looking to pick a fight with CDPROJECT Red and they  (devs) are doing their best to avoid it. I'd rather they be focused on making a great game then meeting the demands of victimhood culture over something so trivial as box art.

The thing to note in a game where you customize the look of the character, even if it is a male or female lead. The box art is only the devs vision of the protagonist, as soon as you load the game and change the look in any way, it is now your vision of how you want the protagonist to look. In a game like this, box art holds very little to the game itself.

I'm glad they are offering reversible covers so i can flip it to the characters i like the most. To me it's not about turning things political or any of that shit. To me it's about my personal preference.

Battlefield 5 has a reversible cover so i flipped it to show the female soldier because i think she looks badass. When i buy RE2 Remake on PS4 i'll show Claire as well because OG RE2 was my first RE game so i like Claire more than Leon. I'll probably do the same with Cyberpunk because i already like how Female V looks more than the guy, but both look really cool.

No big deal here, i'm happy they are giving us the option. It's high quality art and for my money i really appreciate it.

What do you mean future? Threads have already been started in these forums about why a poster in the game advertising a cyber strap-on is enough to give it a pass lol.
    True... lmao

If i remember correctly when CDPR showed the very first cinematic with the female character, they had her on the cover. Then for this years E3 with the new cinematic for male V they had him on the cover.

We already knew the option was there, just not verbally confirmed. I am OK with that. They are not the first ones to do it and certainly not the last.

EDIT: really not sure why some people would get offended by this today when this has been a popular consumer choice throughout console generations. Totally a non-issue.

Wonderful publicity, it got us all talking and are you not going to buy because there is a reversible cover or would you not have bought the box unless the cover was reversible? I would imagine the number or players who would answer yes come launch day is tiny. So end result is a lot of fuss keeping the game in the public eye for virtually no impact on sales. What next?

How about letting players pick their avatar names from a list (you can't type one in) and then announce that men can choose women's names and visa versa. Cheap as chips and round we go again on the media publicity circus. Sorry if I sound cynical but its one of those days. :)

I was afraid the game had suddenly become a cover shooter, fortunately it was about some other cover.

the number of people triggered in this very comment section makes me amused and appalled at the same time...

    Jesus H christ people.

Representation is a thing... we all strive for... We all want to be seen and acknowledged. So just get over that people do not take being forgotten och made invisible laying down. This should not come as any surprise to anyone. Because nobody likes to be ignored.

Thing is... the world have become so used to have "the dude" (often white and very tan) full center that they need to be reminded that there are other options.

It is a small thing to most but for the people who it matter to it is a really big thing. So if it does not cost YOU anything... why get all tissy about it.

Or naked. Half of the internet would have a seizure if there was a female dressed like that on the cover.

That moment when reading the game forums and zone chat in a game becomes worse than twitter. It's getting harder and harder to find good on-topic conversion these days without it devolving into toxic rants about what people hate and what they think is wrong with the world.

Why is everyone getting twisted and bent out of shape about all these issues when it is the developers of the game that is milking this. The more controversy there is, the better it is for them and their game. Why be angry about the "get woke', liberal or gay or whatever crowd when the developers are lapping this shit up. You are  blaming the wrong people here when any kind of controversy translates into hype.

Did all these real world social problems with the game start after they hired that new PR lady with pink hair, nose ring, and problem glasses?

Wow, who saw that one coming?

It's almost as if I made a thread about this...

I just wanted to play games.

I can't believe the faux outrage at the fact that they have a reversible cover. LOL -- it's mind-boggling. Don't ever buy an alt cover for another comic. Don't ever look at a poster without your chosen type on it! Hysterical.

And their new PR person has nothing to do with this. That was another instance of faux outrage FFS.

And, honestly, the vast majority will buy a digital copy anyway so it's a 100% non-issue.

Good God, people -- find something worthwhile for your rage.
