95% of my Switch time is docked, so the lite certainly isn't for me.

To answer your question: Nope. None of that stuff is for me.

I also don't have a need for this, however it is not a bad idea. A LOT of people play their switch mobile a lot. Just as a side note, the switch really is the most unique thing I have seen in consoles in years. I love the innovation, and Nintendo really knocked this thing out of the park. They've also done a good job on the games. Nintendo and Sony really blew me away this generation.

switch lite appeals to people who want a cheep version of the switch but dont care too much about the tv mode, basically people who like handhelds and "mobile games" i wouldn't mind a switch lite BUT if this joycon drift is a thing this will become a real problem in the switch lite because it looks like it uses the same analogue sticks as the normal joycons and that would turn me off id rather pay the extra for a normal one even if i didnt use the TV mode.
Edit: For people saying its a 2ds on steroids thats a misnomer because it doenst play 2ds/3ds software (2ds and 3ds are dead now too)

That would be my problem to. If the drift issue does occur your screwed. Its not like you can buy joy cons for the thing

well u could still use a bluetooth controller but yeah joycon drift would be a MAJOR issue for them on the lite and if i were nintendo i would hold of another 6 months to sort this issue out (if it can be)

While I'd prefer a more portable Switch (i.e. lighter, smaller, better battery) the fact is the Switch is a hybrid console and as such has games that simply play better on a TV, and with a real controller; removing that functionality from the Lite is a deal breaker (for me).

(And yes I could just get a regular Switch, but that is a lot of money for the Hardware, and as a 'portable' I find it clunky).

Since the base Nintendo Switch is getting a upgrade in August with a bigger battery the Lite doesn't make sense. The base Nintendo Switch will have 2x the battery of this thing. Its for the kids I guess and thats fine. I will be getting a second switch in September with the better battery as me and the wife fight over the switch (Its the only system she plays on).

Plus since we travel so much the bigger battery life is worth it.
You actually have a wife that fights over your switch ? You are the luckiest man alive !

Its the only system she plays. Its because the switch is chalkful of platformers and good ones at that. Those games are easiest with her disability. Its not that she doesn't like games but since her hands don't work %100 its harder for her to play a lot of the games of today
Err...you "fight" with your disabled wife for the Switch? C'mon, buy a 2nd one ASAP or just stick with your PC which is a proper gaming portal anyway.

Glad to hear your wife found a way to keep on gaming btw, can't imagine having to consider giving it up.

    Cheers

I've never docked my Switch, so if I didn't own one already. I would consider this. Right now this isn't tempting enough to trade in. If the do an upgraded Switch in the same vein as the PS Pro I will probably upgrade.

Switch Lite is probably what you buy for the kids because you don't want them hogging the television  ;)

I'd just buy them a smaller television.

Don't think this is for me. I love the idea and think it is great but since it is not dockable I don't really care for it.

That being said most of my time is spent with it undocked and on the go. When the version of the Switch with the better battery life comes out I will probably get that one. That sounds better for me but I also want the option to have it dockable so friends can come over and we can play on the big screen if we want.
