If one person shows up for that nonsense, mmorpg's are officially dead at least the rpg aspect is. I think most of us already realize this game is done, this is some very lame attempt to drive up some interest.Seriously who would go looking for a BR inside of a mmorpg, makes zero sense.

Please "Ashes OF Creation Devs" This game can seriously take on FortNite & PUBG, though the "Battlepass system sucks" and instead sell passes which offer an unlimited amount of time to complete, not prey on peoples mental health because of limited time to play and their real life work or duty's / school.
What FortNite does is insanity, Battle Pass to begin with was okay until they added all these limited time skins and make kids spend hours upon hours staying up late to get a virtual skin.
first time they did BR testing i thought, wtf are they doing? well maybe they are just testing this or that hmmm red flags starting to rise up.....
another BR test? you have just obliterated any chance of me spending money on this game. now we are at the point of just admitting this is going to turn into some kind of knock off BR game. so dont keep trying to say its MMO.
hows that saying go? Dont pee down my back and tell me its raining.
What the community needs is a good showing of the gameplay systems they originally backed.
While combat systems are certainly part of the package, to date they've shared very little on the progress of the full MMORPG which, as most will recall, was originally promised for delivery by years end.
No matter how well this BR "test" performs, it will do little to improve the original backers mood.

Its getting to the point that it doesn't matter if its fantasy or not, they might not be the same game with a different skin, but the difference isn't that great either. They are late to the B.R. party and all the best ideas have already been taken, all thats left is the xerox option.
I hope it helps them get the MMO going, but I'm definitely not backing a BR game. Nothing against them, but they're not my cuppa tea. Provided the MMO is still on the menu at all.

Thats the thing, the number of MMO players who are interested in B.R games isn't really that high, the genre's are so different that there is little to no crossover, one thing for sure, any B.R players that might become interested in this game are unlikely to have any interest in any kind of MMO so they won't be interested in supporting the game so that it helps create an MMO, it really will have to stand on its own merits to the B.R. crowd, i am not sure it can do that.
There are a few on mobile. I didn't bother noting down the names of them though even though I kinda liked the style because I'm not into BRs. They're all anime-ish though unlike AoC. Honestly, at least for me, non-anime-ish high fantasy BR just doesn't do things for me. If not anime, then I prefer "realistic" to go along with modern day like PUB while fantasy should be more "fantastic", I guess.
I got an email on 8/6 with this title in huge text "Ashes of Creation - Test Announce, July News, and Last Chance Cosmetics!". I thought, wow they're finally starting the MMO testing and wondered if I could get it running on Fedora Linux or if it was even worth the hassle. Then I opened the email and saw this down in the second sentence of the first paragraph, in normal sized unremarkable font, "...as we start up our Apocalypse testing once again." I thought something along the lines of, "You mother ducking duckers..." and so on.
Well that's the problem! Fedora Linux. The bloatware of the linux world. openSUSE ftw imho.
Battle royale is the right genre for most players here in this forum, who hate core MMO elements and demand an MMO with no power gaps which can offer a 100% equal environment for pvp.
Glad I avoided giving money toward this one. I was close. Years ago when I first saw/heard about it, it was a super interesting and promising system and was truly an innovative MMORPG. Alas, it is no longer any of those things and is a trashy looking fantasy Fortnite.

There is a lot of positives in regards to the BR being able to provide good feedback.
There are a lot of negatives however, and we need to get past that.
A good showing of BR will help the community.
