Depends on game play preference, survival rpg vs shooter rpg. More hours of game play in NMS, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw would be more pew pew fun. I like them both.
Looks like I might have to start a new game save and ditch my older save.
I'll be doing that as well. Looking forward to the changes, and can't wait to dust off my PSVR!

The icon is taunting me in my Steam library, but when, when will I find time to play it? Still going in FFXIV and Martyr with a bit of MHW on the side. When?

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Played for a couple hours with no problems, until I went to the New and Improved ANOMALY. I couldn't interact with anyone on it even though I have quest to talk to Polo an Nada. Then I crashed twice in a row, and decided to call it quits.
Yes and no. NMS has cartoony graphics while ED has more RL grsaphics. NMS has a more arcade dogfight & exploration playstyle while ED is more focussed on exploration. I actually like both games for their own style and differences.
That being said...
PSVR is awesome and I have less problems with motion sickness than when playing Borderlands 2 VR. Sadly, there are a lot of newly introduced bugs concerning old and basic stuff like wall intractable items being at the floor, vaults on the freighter being unaccessable and more of that kinda silly things.
What also holds me back to play my old save is the fact that EVERYTHING needs power now to operate. My base has a requirement of 600+ and each bio plant delivers only 50 for an hour. I think this makes old saves (and prolly also new ones) totally unplayable!

As the saying goes, ask for anything except time. The number of games i own that i wish i had a little more time so i could play, i've lost count. But yes, NMS is increasingly looking like a game thats worth a few hours here and there, i just wish i had them
If I had a better weapon selection on foot and ship controls I would be able to get back in to or have gotten in to it in the first place. After playing SC for so long other space ship flying mechanics are ughh.
I've had loads of problems not previously encountered in my prior games.
There are/were severe startup crash issues at/after the Hello Games screen. I spent last night downloading every Windows 7 (x64) update that could be found. Same issue. I downloaded the most recent NVidia drivers for my 1050 Ti and forced it to do a Clean Installation (option on their installer). All this, coupled with this morning's patches got me into the game.
I loaded a Save, recently started in anticipation of this patch.
Now, I'm getting odd functionality that wasn't there in the previous version. Found an abandoned ship, and claimed it. Now I can't switch back to my prior ship (with all the inventory needed to fix the new ship). I was standing there next to the old ship, but it didn't have any option to enter the ship or interact with it in any way. It could not be summoned, either. It simply disappeared, transformed into a visible artifact. (Had to abandon that game).
The performance with this new patch is horrific. Task manager was reporting a near constant 15% processor usage, even with nothing happening. Four of eight cores were being hit hard. TM also reported 90+% physical memory usage, where the old version (from just days ago), seemed to peak around 35%. There's a definite increase in page faults and the working memory was spiraling upwards every time I did something in-game. (Credit to Hello: the application seemed to release resources to Windows when I wasn't actively doing something).
It used to be possible to remap some keys, and put some on my mouse buttons. Remapping is completely broken, with some people reporting crashes when trying to remap. I didn't crash, but it didn't let me remap anything.
Right now, I want to play. Right now, I can't. It won't let me. I need to wait a few days and try again.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
There have been 2 updates to NMS today. The second downloaded while I was playing, roughly 3pm EST to 5pm EST. Maybe I'll have a pleasant surprise in the morning.
In the hopes that most of my issues were related to the save game, I started a new game. So far, there hasn't been a resurgence of the problems I had earlier. So, it appears that there are some significant save game issues that, while they might work, cause far more issues. If you're having problems and loaded a game from before 2.0, you might consider just restarting.

Has anyone tried the VR aspect of the patch? I'm curious if it's well done or not.
I actually dove into the PSVR version last night, and it was very impressive. Controls were pretty well done and the sense of scale was wonderful. My only gripe is it's kinda tough controlling the ship in-flight, but that should get easier with time and practice. Could shape up to be one of the best open world VR games...

It's pretty laggy, which is new. I would wait for a fix.

GTFO old me!
I'll play it when HG fixes the issues, and I have total confidence that they will.
Gut Out!
What, me worry?
