Showcasing videos that prove how wrong some pre-conceptions are is just that. Posting videos is the easiest and fastest way to showcase that.
As for "no story or real soul to this game" it's because the story focus is placed on the single player campaign Squadron42:
Which is all deeply tied with Star Citizen lore as its timeline will happen right after Squadron42 ends.
While the Star Citizen focus has been in creating the online sandbox universe and enabling players to have fun with it, not to build the sandcastles for them to play, story-wise that is. There's not supposed to be a fixed narrative for the player to follow, the idea is that each and everyone chooses it's own path accordingly with it's gameplay tastes.
That's not to say that there aren't npc's with backstories and quests tied to the Squadron 42 story along with reputation that enable specific paths:
Oh and I'm definitely not trying to convince anyone to back the
game, I'm the first to say "don't buy into it". Actually I'm perfectly
happy that people who don't fancy the game or it's business model to
stay out of it. It's the best for all tbh.
The look on his face too. That SS had to be taken for that reason. That shit eating grin you know whats going through his mind...."these F###ing idiots keep giving me money for shit that doesnt even exist. If I had a soul or a conscience I might feel bad. But Mama and Papas gotta eat."
There are many backers that help with QA by submitting bug reports. Doing testing in groups, focussing on specific topics, recreating errors and see them patched out can be fun and rewarding IMHO. Your mileage may vary. I recommend to playtest Star Citizen together with friends.
$500 million would be 8.3 million copies sold at $60 a piece, you got a source for that because it's rather contrary to their wikipedia page or any information I can find.
...while Steam Spy estimated that more than 823,000 copies were sold in 2016 for a total gross revenue of more than $43 million. With the release of "Next" and the Xbox One version of the title in July 2018, SuperData reported No Man's Sky was the sixth top-selling console game globally for the month, bringing in around US$24 million across all platforms.
While he won’t release sales figures, Murray said that “last year we
sold the kind of numbers a AAA game would be happy with at launch,” (Techspot Apr 2019)
they are making more money on not releasing the game than they ever would if they release so why release it?
At least he's not missing any meals, there's that.
Endless posts about 90 days tops etc. And getting paid but getting rich? Tens of millions of salaries being paid to C-level execs at Activsion-Blizzard and EA?
If - IF - the motive for SC is financial then the route to riches lies in floating RSI. The professional investment for a small % of the company gives an idea of the value. A flaotation value would probably be even higher. Games potential, animation capabilities, own mo-cap capabilities, possible TV series etc.
To unlock that value though SC / SQ42 really need to release. Especially as the funding will dry up at some point. (A possible reason for the investment).
The potential could be hundreds of millions.
The reality is that if the goal was purely financial SC would probably have been dressed up and pushed out of the door as a buggy, unfinished mess already.
Which is the irony. Clearly the fact that this started - and still is - a "dream" project (driven by altruism or ego whatever) is an attraction. The downside is that its the desire to "do it right" that pushes the release date out. Especially when you factor in the hard economics of having to pay staff etc.
To recap if the goal is purely financial then floating RSI is the way ahead.
Look how fat he looks now..he is just scamming money out of people with a game that will never be finished..i dont know why people cant see it..they must be blind or lesser int.
Keep providing fake news and lie. 2 roadmap, Beta of SQ42 in 4 quarters not never. Still no publishers have delivered 10% of the SC Apha.
As usual close to end of each quarters, same guys around throw their venon because they don't have a clue about time of development starting from scratch.
Go buy Fallout 76 or Anthem... of COD of BF something... Publishers keep delivering same reskinned game year after year but why support a 35/45$ project while many spend hundreds every year on shallow games. LoL

Hater and their logic. Use a guy physic to predict whatever project success he is involved in. LoL
meanwhile, 3.6.2 is going to be released and we have 3 quarters ahead of patch + SQ42 in Beta mid 2020.
So much of haters and their 90 days top collapse... back in 2015
Next they might even make a game development team. Probably planned for the future.
Say the guy who will be handle for sure to take into account a support from 1.2 million individual backers, starting from scratch with 12 guys end of Nov. 2012.
The funnier is that most guys commenting about the project would have a hard time to deliver 1/1000th of skills to create all from scratch and deliver a triple-A beta only 7 years and half after.
We know the answer: None... Counting those who would have delivered a 30M$ product;.. and run away with the remaining cash.
Not only CR did not run away but he create 4 studios and hired +500 employees. kudo to him and... educated Backers.
Wonder how many people will be in jail when its all over and totally exposed?
None that is why he has held on to his lawyer buddy since his career began. Now a days, even if your a charity doing everything wrong, all the government will do is ask for their tax money,it takes several offenses for real action.
Loopholes are there for a reason and existed a long time for a reason, the rich exploit them and the rich sort of control the power. From unions to lobbyists, governments are acting on behalf of the almighty $$$ not on behalf of the common people.
As to the game and it's quality assurance?LOL you need to first know what quality is and so far in gaming circles around the globe,MOST either don't know or don't care. When i look over thousands of games ,i see system designs that are implemented as cheap as possible.
I have no problem at all with SC if they wanted to take it slow and develop each idea into AAA ideas but this is NOT how the game has been managed. It became a fast pipedream, just a quick cash grab idea then soon as money started to roll faster than a printing press Robert's realized this was a gold mine and began turning a game into a cash shop of pledges selling ships.
SO what is quality assurance going to do when the game is really just one giant cash shop?Assure the cash shop is delivering a steady stream of new ships?Yep they have that covered.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

At least he's not missing any meals, there's that.
Not really. For example, NoManSky, despite the negative e-backlash made easily at least 500$million dollars in sales between PS4 and Steam sales.
Just through sheer marketing push and just by showcasing trailers and minmal gameplay beforehand.
Except people didn't pay for NMS 7+ years before hand. Those that want SC have already paid for it. After release the only money making left would be through micro transactions. If they do not do it they will not survive. So just keep selling ships to current fans. No need to release.
Star Citizen is the Fortnite of unfinished/unreleased games.
They should do a Cloud Imperium Game Store, and do exclusive deals for all the perpetually unfinished/unreleased games.
Thing is that Fortnite by it's own definition also unfinished since it's still in early access and making more money in a bad month than CIG has made all these years.
Money that comes a lot from underaged kids but that's all fine and dandy because it's not playing with the emotions of jaded mmorpg lovers

that's their secret crowdfunding milestone god tier of $1 billion

not everyone wants world of warcraft and raiding for phat lewts. Someone of us would actually like to see a dev team push the boundaries of the genre.

Seriously how acting high and pretend they never had Q&A? So much of haters
By no means Warframe is equivalent to SQ+42 + SC.
You can enjoy warframe and do support ambitious project like Squadron 42 and Star Citizen. Who can't afford 35/45$ in 7 years?
