Help find a mmorpg for me and kids to play.

I got 3 computers and want to play a mmorpg with my kids that are 6 and 8 yo, they haven’t played any yet, they play mostly Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft.

What is a good and easy mmorpg to start with? Was thinking that I could be a healer and try to keep them alive. Hope for some good suggestions from people that now! I have almost only played Path of Exile last couple of years.

From a dad that wanna make the kids nerds too ;)

    I would suggest either Pirate101 or Wizard101. Very kid friendly and they both have very reasonable family plans also.

    Well if your kids are influenced by others like most are then yeah then it will simply be a popularity contest..ALL the kids are playing FN so that is our fave game sort of mentality.
    If your kids are not free thinkers and have no real reasoning behind looking for a game,then again,might as well mention anything popular.
    There has ALWAYS been a status Quo when mentioning "KIDS"and we see it already in this thread>>Wizard 101.I have news for people,kids are WAY smarter than you give them credit for,they don't NEED to have SIMPLE minded kiddie toon graphics,instead teach them to be open minded,introduce them to several ideas.

    There lies another problem,if the parent is not interested there is a good chance the kids won't be or it won't simply work.
    So i hope i spelled it out,allow your kids to expand and think a bit so they can possibly see all the genres.Try to enforce the idea of playing for FUN and NOT to be a winner at some cheap esport game.

    Yes initially a game like W101 will be attractive because it is really simple,they see other characters that look like little kids,so they sort of feel like they fit in but you would be handcuffing them from better games.

    they probably wont stick with it terribly long but my nephews always ask to play rift when I visit, they are about 7 and 9 year old so comparative ages. it is rated a bit higher but if you stick to starter areas and keep away from the big fights its entertaining enough for them

    I can tell you that the game my boy was most interested in over ANY other game was Unreal Tournament.He could barely use the keyboard mouse,not very good at all but he was i imagine intrigued by me playing "influenced" and his friends were playing shooters "influenced",see the problem?
    It is like we... society are brainwashing kids.
    IMO nobody else knows your kids better than the parent,so determine what kind of person they are and aim for that rather than a simple THEME "family" "kids game".

    If they like Minecraft, that's a good enough game for adults. I'd suggest trying playing it with them.

    As far as MMOs go, Wizard 101 is likely the best. It's aimed for kids, and it has good grouping system.

    This. There are a few kid friendly games out there, but KingIsle is maybe the only one with the defined goal of making them for the younger audience, and with kids-parent cooperative play in mind.


    If Kano's right however, and they will be bored, you can try the more action-packed "blocky" games too (since they like Minecraft and Roblox), Trove and/or MapleStory 2.
    Maybe the latter (MS2) is more kid-friendly, with the cute graphics and the easy controls - not to mention the several non-combat activities and events.

    Thanks everyone to take time to answer!

    They are playing games I play more now, a lot of team fight tactics recently, I will look up wizard101 and Rift, I played Rift on release, it was pretty good, I loved Dungeons and dragons online, but that feels a bit hard. But it was a couple of years ago I played it.

    WOW has enough goofiness and cuteness to appeal to younger kids. A gnome engineer should be a hit with the young ones.

    I recommend Trove, MapleStory 2, Wizard 101, Amazing World,  Final Fantasy 14, Runescape, and DC Universe online.

    An easy recommend: Elder scrolls online, they can build class they want with healing or what ever they want to become.

    I mostly play Minecraft with my 5 yo son (we have our own server). He will dive into Vendetta Online with me on occasion, just to bounce around the training sector.  To give you an idea "what the game is about", here is an event I attended last night:



    I wouldn't expect him to get much out of experiences like the above until he is older, as @DMKano suggests.

    Coincidentally, it also runs in VR.
