Spawners coming :)

I was excited last stream about a tease of spawn statues.   These are placeable mob figurines like that of a koblald, elf, etc.  where you can place them in rooms and halls in dungeons.  Once the dungeon is changed from deco (development mode) to adventure the figurines become npc mobs.    This with the existing encounter rooms makes things pretty cool for player dungeons.  They also just added the first slew of fx for dungeons, properties, and towns.  Teleporter should be in pretty soon in the next week I believe.  Not to mention they compeleted the tech that will allow NPC dressing up with gear.  Still has a few bugs though as some gear the skin comes through.    This has been a pretty nice release.

The problem is they spend time on things like spawners when no one actually adventures in dungeons. The loot is a bit lower then adventuring in regular zones so not too many people go into player made dungeons. There was a post & poll on the main forums and most people don't spend much time in dungeons expect to decorate. I'm sure they'll put the statues in the gold shop, but I don't see much use in them since a majority of the player base dosent venture much in player made dungeons. Why don't they spend time doing Episode 2 stuff?

You are correct on this, that most do not mess around in player dungeons yet.  The Yet is the key word.  myself I have a 630 point lore driven dungeon.  Its hard, but as Hillt said loot is less then stellar at this moment.   The new permission mechanics that that just put in last release was 1 step closer to the mechanics required for us to have the keyed doors and loot boxes to put in the dungeons to allow owners to put in specialized loot chests which conditions such as room must be cleared before box can be open etc.   These are all part of the plans along with the NPC scripted quest system coming.    Until those are done I don't expect dungeons to be used much short of those like me still decorating them getting them ready when the dungeon list system comes into play with the loot stuff.  I also fully expect to see them eventually update the loot on the existing mobs etc later down the road.

Myself being one of the high end crafting people in the game will be putting some of my best loot into my dungeon as the attraction for people to want to go and do it.   In facts in EP2 I will have an adventure only zone which my prequel dungeon well eventually offer a key to get into the tower planned in the future ;)  Some of us have hashed out 2 years+ of lore and concepts just waiting on the tools.   I plan to have class specific loot boxes for people to ensure there is something useful for all.

I have seen the new placement spawn items and tested it on Chris's live stream myself they offer no loot yet on those but all in good time :)

While everything you said sounds great Xee, I don't think you'll ever see it come to pass. Loot for dungeons will never compete against normal zones. While you can put in things you craft as loot, your crafted items still are not better then what I currently wear. Plus, you can't put in artifacts or other rare loot that people want and need. So dungeons will always be useless to adventure in except to do your story quest. And people will only want to run your dungeon once. Once I have been through the story/lore what is the incentive for me to visit again?

So all of the money people have spent buying the dungeon sets, in the end after years and years of sitting it still won't be worth the time for people. Heck Portalarium will probably be bankrupt by the time they even try to get to some of the items you stated above. One year after the official release of the game they moved offices and cut staff to levels of working from home.

Have fun with your expensive deco dungeons.

Dude, closing their office and cutting staff and working from home isn't the sign of a failed game and company.  It's a brilliant financial strategy to save more money that can be invested in the game to make it EVEN BETTER!  I mean, look at how their advertising budget has ballooned.  They sent e-mails.  E-mails!

The emails weren't even spell checked and highlighted areas that haven't been touched in years, such as the map system.

So I got my hands on 3 of these test spawners.  They are pretty cool, they work great in my dungeon, but tried them in town and they seem to randomly spawn in the town and kill people lol.  Not sure what the long term plans are yet for them but being able to place spawns anywhere is pretty awesome.  Look forward to bringing life to towns with NPC's and mobs.
