There is NOTHING unique here, not sure how the writer can make that claim. The climate effects are well established inside of Atlas, very hot/dry desert, very cold tundra and then stuff in between,so NO there is nothing new here.

Says a preview but mentions nothing more about the water. To me watering holes are a gross mistake by the developer and we need a mention as to how fast water is needed. My one peeve was how often we have to eat and drink in most survival games, they ALL get that part WRONG.

I would say this is a very quickly built game whence they saw that movie with the movie cities.OH OH cool idea, let's make a game,it doesn't work that way.

I am interested in Survival games but there is nothing close to enough here to base anything on.This is in essence a biased article to butter up the developer before the paid article is to arrive, likely already a partnership is in place.
For now i'll have to look elsewhere to get some real news and video on this.

Can see it already. Someone is going to make an Attack on Titan mod for this game.

Someone should make a survival game where the players have to survive survival games.

Survival AND early access? That's unique. We truly do live in a magical time for gaming.

wish they would stop making these low content survival games. most of us have already played a bunch of them and even if they all have there differences the majority of game play is the same so cant see to many bothering with this.

Obviously this Wizardly guy didn't read the description if he says there's nothing new. "OH it has cold and heat so it's just like Atlas". Yeah braniac, it's just like EVERY game since UO according to that.

Let me help... yeah there's cold and heat but the livable area is ALWAYS changing so you have to run away from the cold and heat. Which is NOTHING LIKE ATLAS. Come out and get some sun... oh wait... that's just like Atlas.

Survival games are always designed for people to work together. Then, belatedly, developers realize that everything they've built can be and probably will be exploited by unscrupulous players/guilds who for some reason are surprisingly disinterested in working with other players/guilds.

And now systems have to be put in place to prevent this. I've read this a hundred times in the last two years. "System will be in place . . . "

My recommended system works pretty well. When I see the word "survival MMO" I mentally throw it into the circular bin which does an astonishingly good job of whisking it from my mind.

No Atlas is not the only game i like,i could play a few survival games, but currently Atlas is the best.

I could draw ideas/comparisons to other games but this is a survival game so i look at what is my best option.I also recently checked out i think is called Green Hell, didn't like what i saw in game play because the whole infection/disease idea was way out of hand ,happening too often.

I should make note that just because i consider Atlas the best survival game does not mean the devs implmented it correctly or even well because they did not.
The reason Atlas is so good is you can play in single player mode with your own settings and mods.Or you can play on player run servers that also have other players and their own settings/mods.

So i am always on the search for a BETTER survival game, not just a gimmick that has the moving city idea.Atlas has pets/breeding all the climate ideas albeit the climate is done too harshly on the regular servers. You can craft ships/boats to sail around and the water is realistic with deep sea diving, sharks, mermaids, killer whales fishing that you actually see and not just a fake animation.

So Atlas just does a lot really well on top of having the treasure bottles and undead fights to gain gold and crafting blueprints.

So far having all i see from this game is those moving cities,a one trick pony/gimmick.That idea is cool yes,i enjoyed the movie as well but that gimmick would feel exciting for about one week or until i made the biggest one.I would rather have the ship building and sailing the seas idea than these moving cities OR give me both.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

The funny thing is people do like the survival genre, but we get so few of them on here, I have no idea why. You would think as they are somewhat MMOish we would have more than the handful of Survival fans I have seen since CE started. I can only assume that they appeal to players other than MMO players, but then we are hardly just MMO players on here.
