I tried searching this site for other news about this game and the only thing that pops up is centered around a $150 founders pack?

"Developed by an international all-star team from Ubisoft, Valve, Rockstar Games, Guerilla Games and 2K, Project C is being made to change how people perceive open world online games."
With such a stellar cast you would think they would have more to show before asking for $150 to play in their alpha .

It looks a lot like Firefall? At least the art style.

Sad to see games become buy your ease of play games.   Especially games that are, at present, of unknown status yet asking for money that gives the privileges within said nonexistent game.

I had high hopes for Project A and Project B, sank a lot of money into both, but in the end got no product. You know, I think I'll sink twice the money into Project C. Just to make sure they have enough! I have high hopes !

The Devs making this title, Darewise/Nvizzio already tanked in their last effort, Rokh, a space themed survival game, basically walking away despite promising not to back in early March of 2018 when they couldn't find anyone to pay for it.

Devs made one final post in Aug 2018 shortly before shutdown, lots of pissed off people on Steam over it.

So yeah, feel free to buy away.....clearly it will be different this time....

The lead designer of CoE actually failed with Revival, another game where they presold tons of property.  That hasn't stopped people from giving CoE $7M...

We will see if these guys have the golden flute.

    ‘$140 of in-game currency’
Did they just go straight to P2W or is this currency only good during alpha/beta?

Revival lol. This was the MMO project by Illfonic, the same guys that for a while were going to make the Star Citizen FPS module.

They saw up close how the SC ship jpg sales were doing and then decided to start the Revival project selling housing jpgs. What a shock.

Well this may be the first many here are learning of Project C, MassivelyOP has been providing regular coverage since it was first announced. (You can see full list of articles at bottom of most recent)

    https://massivelyop.com/2019/09/25/sandbox-mmo-project-c-launches-149-99-founder-packs-plans-october-closed-alpha/

Keep telling you folks this site isn't the best when it comes to keeping up on the latest MMORPG news.

But if you need a new gaming chair, or info about the latest BR, they've got you well covered.

I come for the forum not the news per see, only stating the very first on this site is the founder, I would be ashamed of doing that on my site, I would find more info before doing this, but that is me

Whenever I see developers talking down to gamers as if we were all a bunch of dumb asses, I start to get pissed off but then I remember, collectively we kind of are :)

I've bought into many early access/betas over the years, but not once have I been dumb enough to give someone money in exchange for a promise to get something later. If I can't log in right now and try the game... they will never get my money.

Why the hell would people buy into a new project if they straight up abandoned their last project before it launched while accepting money for it?

    People are dense as hell.

Everything will be different this time of course, the devs have learned from their previous failure, yadda, yadda.

The feature list is shorter than the backer benefits list.

Also when I saw this two days ago in their FAQ they had the question "how long until you announce the real name" with the answer of "after we see more of the game we'll know what to call it".   So they're so under planned that they're in need of funding before they even have a name.

Sort of like that old joke, "when I was a kid my family was so poor we couldn't afford a last name"

Pretty much the same here, these folks are too broke to build what they've planned.
