To say players are chomping at the bit to get into ArcheAge: Unchained today is an understatement. Gamigo's Buy-to-Play version of its MMORPG launches at 1pm ET/10 AM PT today, and players are eager to get in and see what the new version of ArcheAge has to offer. Additionally, the developers themselves are hosting a livestream at launch for players to join in the fun with them.

    ah come on it can't be that bad, there is a lot of fo... I mean people here defending the game, course they are people who never played AA before, but its so cute see then defending the game :) edit: btw good thing for bill a PR company payment is not linked with the product performance lol

    I am going to play this weekend. I loved the gameplay. The game will still work through Trions old launcher right? That is where I have it.

    Well, if you bought the game on the official site then why wouldn't it be on the glyph launcher?

    It's on the Glyph launcher but you need to download the new client.

    The game was originally ruined by a handful of issues. If those issues have been addressed, then it's one of the best new-ish MMOs out at the moment and definitely worth playing.

    I'm not going to pretend I know what future plans they for the game and base my decision off ignorant assumptions... its $25 and it's worth playing.

    Everything at Gamigo is super low effort- sort of how the company runs - they dont want to spend any money on rehiring developer to have functional dev teams - just keep everything on life support and collect money. 

    This is why ArcheAge is such a huge thing for Gamigo as there is a full dev team at XL working on the game - and Gamigo doesn't have to spend a dime on that - just host the game and split profits with XL 



    Did you get fired/layed off by Gamigo or something? You name drop them in every thread even if the post is titled "What type of pizza are you eating tonight?"

    The best approach is to wait it out for 2 to 3 months if they dpnt go p2w and things are healthy then you jump in and dont lose anything. If it sucks or a cash grab, then you waited it out.

    That is my approach. I am also playing an MMOnive played since 2009, entropia universe, so im good.

    I guess I will see this from the sidelines. Not a single word from support. I got an error 1004. Did a search and tried everything I found and no fix yet.

    For example I'm sure no one will be stuck sitting in outrageous queues like I was back at the original NA launch.

    It is a solid game - yes - but newish?
    It's not BDO, but it's not LotRO either. It's somewhere in between visually stunning and dated... new-ish. ;)

    But the gameplay is great.

    You'll play an online casino disguised as an MMO but you won't throw $26 at Archeage? I spent my fair share of time in Entropia and that was one of the most expensive games I've ever played.

    The queuing hasn't been much fun on EU. I just had to pick the most popular server as well when I reserved my name...

    They've added a new server to each region now that are only open for name reservation at the moment. They are adding another new server to each region when the game launches on Steam as well which should be tomorrow (there was some kind problem with launching on Steam today).

    I've got in twice and got to level 35 already. The game can just kick you to desktop after a few hours of gameplay and put you at the back end of a 4500+ queue that takes between 1-2 hrs though.

    It's better now since it's nighttime over here. About an 800 queue only on 1 server, 30 minute wait. I decided to have an early sleep and play off peak instead.

    This is on a weekday as well, when everyone is at work, school, uni or whatever... weekend should be fun.
