They really do listen to their followers. I was part of the YouTube discussion that brought up these issues and the features to fix them.
The game still hasn't hit Beta phase yet so if you're still not liking the graphics and character movements just wait a while longer. More improvements and changes are expected as development continues.
I've got a feevah, and the only prescription... is more cowbell.
I saw somewhere else news that Valiance is also plugging away still. It sounds like it has some neat features I would really like to see, i.e. rounding out the "superhero experience" with an actual alter-ego doing ordinary stuff, NOT just "crafting." (I've yet to see a game with crafting that really seemed much like crafting.)
Which one is going to be better, City of Titans or Ship of Heroes? And when are these games expected to be released?
That's as difficult a question as asking which is better Marvel or DC...Ok its Marvel.
I really have no idea and we won't know until they both launch.
It's hard to say because they are both in different stages of development and are different games with different engines. As much as I would like to say City of Titans will launch, they've missed some key dates, despite them finally allowing some of the community to download a launcher for the upcoming alpha tests... but in all honesty I wouldn't expect to play them anytime soon.
As for which ones will be better... Neither... neither will be better... they are both small teams, and both are supposedly fixated on quality. If they can launch in a pretty decent state, you still have to contend with the premise that, most players will want updates sometime down the line, and small teams like these don't generally deliver content as timely as the players would like.
Temper your excitement. As long as you go in with the right outlook, you probably won't be disappointed with either of them.

People just need to grasp the idea that neither game has the team size or money that Cryptic had. This is not AAA, but then AAA and MMORPG have not gone together for years.
I really don't care for the whole "city on a space ship" idea. The part that's the deal killer though is "everyone has the same origin for their superpowers". Can't have a magic character, can't have an immortal type character, can't have a mutant, can't have a tech hero. Just kills it for me. My idea of playing a super hero game is to actually be able to play a super hero like right out of the comic books. This just feels more like a sci fi game to me.

It does seem needlessly restricted in that regard, would only take a story plot to add mutants or someone who was effectively immortal ((aren't all player avatars just that? )). Magic no, but that just one comic tradition, the rest you could squeeze in and still be a city in space.
