imageBlizzCon Question Submission Requirement Fuels Fan Worry Over Shutting Down Q&A - MMORPG.com

It appears players are upset ahead of BlizzCon, specifically the WoW Q&A and the requirement to submit questions beforehand for screening instead of being asked live.

People are dumb....did they forget about this guy? image Questions will still be asked or snide remarks made in the crowd if they mention mobile. I'm more surprised Blizz hasn't came out and said they weren't going to have QA at all since they've been cancelling a bunch of events recently. I can't wait to see this year's blizzcon.

Nah, they'll just try and host it in China next year for their 'real' audience. My apologies, they will do it to reach a 'new demographic.'

Honestly, it seems a pointless move.  What's stopping folks from submitting one question, then asking another?  Someone determined to fling poo at Blizzcon (not that I'm necessarily against it), will do so regardless.  I too am surprised they haven't just cancelled Q&A outright.

Either way, Blizzcon this year should be a real treat.  I didn't buy a ticket, but I'm totally tuning in for the drama!

Me too - this might be the most memorable Blizzcon ever - cant wait to see how Blizzard handles all the shit that will be thrown their way.

One day in the near future....

Gaming giant Activision-Blizzard announces Hong Kong based cyber terrorists have launched a massive DDOS attack which has disrupted all communication in or out of Blizzcon.

Company spokespersons said these "criminals" have already been identified and promises they will be swiftly brought to justice.

In related news the Chinese government has filed papers for their immediate extradition as the organ transplant waiting list isn't getting any shorter.

Well, in corporate events, where they ask for questions "up front" they don't have the person asking the question "ask it."

They read the questions from a list.

So no one would be coming up asking anything.

Security is being done by the same group that did the Star Wars convention and handled the people disgruntled at that. You can wear what you want, but if you act up you get removed, banned from the convention center (and all future events there), and charged with disorderly conduct. They kept the Fandom Menace under control.

That might not be a bad thing.  However, if they showcase D4, and a WOW WoTLK related expansion......well they will be golden.

This is called censorship to persuade a positive influence on their products which in essence is  called unfair marketing practices and illegal.
Blizzard is going to do everything in their power to thwart ANY negative impact the people have on their products.
I already said this is NOT about an event, this is 100% nothing more than Blizzard marketing their products, one giant advertisement event.
You couldn't give me a ticket and would take literally thousands of dollars to get me to go to a Blizzcon,to me it is pure rubbish.
That is why i just cannot believe it when i see people getting all excited, what are they expecting,it is more like a social gathering, the COOL place to be even though the giant circus will offer literally nothing outside of promoting their products.
Blizzard's motto, thanks for your money, now you will do what we tell you and when we tell you,NOW rise and clap and cheer and wait for our next que.

I almost look at Blizzcon like one of those evangelist events,PRAISE Blizzard, donate to serve the needy "Blizzard",you will be secured a place in heaven if you clap and cheer and give Blizzard money.

Juicy, succulent, well deserved fan hate towards Blizzard and Activision here... You know what I hope we see they go to broadcast and the place is darn near empty because no one wanted to spend cash on that garbage or just a bunch of umbrellas everywhere lol.

I hear the dress code for all Blizzard employees attending is brown pants

    Nothings gonna happen.

Most of the people have already forgotten about this thats the thing about stuff that goes viral, it trends for a week and everyone is enraged and then it calms down. Non the less they always had security checks and bag checks before you can even enter Blizzcon. Questions were for MANY MANY years always pre filled in this is nothing new.

In short, blizzard will announce awesome new games and that's it ^^ wouldn't hope for anything special hong kong wise, and even if one guy does something retarded he will just get kicked out and lose his access... who would waste a whole trip going there and their ticket they bought many months ago?

Kinda interesting to see how Blizzard went from one of the most cherished developers to being shit upon in just a few years.

Is Blizzcon exempt from the boycott? Anyone that's really pissed at this should go demonstrate outside the venue otherwise it's just P2B (pay to boycott.) Or maybe the boycott is over now and no one told us?

    So confusing :)

Just shows how the ignorance of gamers on how things really work can result in unreasonable backlash.

Just kick them out.  It is a videogame platform not a place to spread protested words against political decisions of a nation.

Was actually thinking of buying a virtual ticket this year, but that idea went out the window. I'm not paying to watch people who don't give a rats ass about china and their people protest just because that is the culture now days.

While I think Blizz dug their own hole with this one and don't agree with the punishments handed out, this is turning into a shit show and for all the wrong reasons. Don't think for a minute that these groups that are organizing some of these protests are doing it because they care about China and freedom, they are doing it to bring attention to themselves and hopefully that brings in more doners and attention. There has been plenty of other occasions they could have protested if they really cared, but haven't.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
