PoE2 something tells me this is just a marketing ploy! im sure they could add a new class to the existing PoE since skills come from gems.......almost as if it trying to beat the wow factor of D4 and overwatch
They are adding a new game worth of content, hell, more then the original game if you want to get technical. (The original game had 3 acts when it came out iirc) Not only that, you can still play with all the content from the first game and not lose any MTX or progression (if you play standard). I would say it is the best of both worlds. We get the amount of content of a sequel without any downsides. They aren't even charging for the sequel.
POE ended up being the most expensive game I was never charged for.

Hopefully they learn from their mistake of a boring starting experience, if not well, they're only appealing to the same crowd and just going to cannibalize themselves.

I also don't think this game was reactionary because of Diablo 4 this game looks pretty far along. I mean the graphics, to me, look really good and if they started this a few months ago in anticipation of Diablo 4 I don't think we would have gotten a trailer like this.
That said I wouldn't be surprised if it was reactionary to Diablo Immortal last year. They saw Blizzard stumble and said lets capitalize. That isn't a bad thing however. Competition is a good thing. Just look at the WWE they went years without any real competition and got lazy. Now that AEW has come along they have become the ones that are reactionary. Eventually WWE will find their footing and knock AEW down a few pegs I am sure (at least when it comes to NXT) but they have gone so long with no competition they have no idea what they are doing.
They mentioned what is now "4.0" being planned/worked on in early 2018. It's always been meant to be a patch/update that brought the game into a modern age. PoE started development in 2009 with a very small studio and is still running on some of the same bones. They are also adding the content each update over the next year with the new 7 act series and systems being the final update. I'd expect this version of PoE to be playable this time next year, where blizz will likely be showing their new vision for D4 with no release date in sight.
(My old PC (i7 920, 8gb ddr3, HDD, GTX970) plays PoE just fine. With a decade old CPU and 5 year old GPU.)
4.0 GHZ CPU Geforce 1060 TI , 8 gigs ram ect ect
Guess im just the Unlucky person then =( game wouldnt even run last time i tried it when they did that patch><><><<br />
i havnt tried to install the game again since that patch , so maybe they fixed the problems<><><<br />
><>
your specs doesnt tell anything
a CPU from 2009 could run at 4.0 GHZ and cant run POE
GPU isnt that needed in POE
and 8gigs of ram ? in 2019? get double
also SSD helps
but well that what you gets when you dont build your own pc
Is this going to be using the same game engine? If so it's an instant no for me.
Edit: OK just watched the trailer for it. The camera appears to be pulled back considerably when compared to POE. That is really my main complaint so I will have a look after all.
I love the game but this is one of my issues with this game also, talking about the zoomed in camera. Depending on where the enemy is they can be sniping you from off screen an there is no way to see them without just running up to them which can get you killed sometimes. Other than that this is one of the best ARPG's on the market for multiplayer.

Lucky for you, all mtx is retained in POE2
Honestly, this is the only thing that matters when you come out with a "sequel" that looks like the original and has to always be online. Good on them and since it'll probably be out before D4, they have a lot leg room unless something like Lost Ark heads to the west. I'd probably drool all over this game if it had an offline campaign.
It's a f2p constantly updated game with microtransactions. Why would they release a "sequel"? They're pulling an Overwatch 2.
If it'll be the same client but function like Warcraft 3 where you choose your expansion, then alright, I guess it makes more sense, but I still don't see the point of releasing a numbered sequel like this.
Pre-"biggest update ever". That update completely killed the game.
Edit: God this forum software is still atrocious with its formatting. The 'comment on article' page is all HTML-like that ignores plain formatting, and the forum is WYSIWYG with its own issues. Whatever happened to the upgrade that was supposed to come, but was reverted due to significant issues (and/or backlash)?

Did he say he did or didn't build his own PC? assuming someone bought a pre built PC because they have an old machine is silly. Also, in 2019, 99% of the games still run fine with 8GB RAM. More than that is either future proof or just desire to spend money.
Pretending that someone always has to have the latest hardware just because... it's also silly. Old machines play PoE just fine
Why couldn't they just fix the camera on the first one and call it done? I don't see anything so far that makes me think anything else is different other than that change.
Looks freaking awesome, poe with 2 campaign's to get to end game, will they both be in the same league/trade server, or each league gets its own player base ?
This is GGG after all. I dont know about anyone else, but I feel they've earned a good reputation over the years, so I doubt this is just a ploy to double dip from their community.
Taking links from gear and putting them on gems is a massive (and welcome) change. No more trying to to find/buy/roll a 6 link chest/weapon just to progress is great.
Changes like this will appeal to the casual gamer while still retaining plenty of depth for others.
if you need a 2000 dollar PC to play a ARPG , Something is wrong with the world hahahahah
with crappy ARPG graphics , they really need to figure out how to optimize having 100 monsters on screen at same time><><><><><><><><><><<br />
i can see it now POE 2 with same crappy ARPG graphics and you will need a 3000 dollar Top of the Line computer to run it , All because this company sucks at Optimizing how there game runs
Sounds like your graphic drivers are out of date or you have some other problem on your end.
since the last patch i cannot even run this game , its a Joke Really , i had to Uninstall the game, that i have been playing since day 1, Even my Old crappy computer could run the game Perfectly Prior to these patch's
i can run most other games on max (Online Games)
Really hope they fix this problem it Blows my mind actually
I have 3 years old PC, 1 200 dollars price mark at that time, i can play PoE perfectly fine, strange

I have an i7-9700K, 2080TI, 32GB DDR4, m2 SSD, PoE still stutters.
from what I understand...all previous expansions from PoE will cary over to PoE 2, it will be just new campaign ( I don't see any reason why would anyone want to play original campaing after this new one) but if you decide so, you can play original campaing and endgame should be the same for original PoE and PoE 2
It was even said that you can use your cosmetics from PoE in PoE 2 and in PoE there are 19 ascendancy classes which makes you somehow unique...it says more about your class than picking Marauder, Witch etc. and in PoE 2 there are going to be 38 ascendancy classes which sounds really good and crazy at the same time so I'm super curious about revealing those
Next thing to say is that bosses even in first act of PoE 2 are on absolutely another level, mechanically and visualy from original PoE campaing and that's the thing I love...game is even more zoomed out i guess, not sure about engine but should be better and i even heard e.g. grass in PoE looks better + lower performance and it's only grass so if they are able to make this with other stuff, well that'd be great...can't wait for more info cause i had to go sleep, hehe
I guess the long promised expansion just became a new product
it's not, technically. it will work alongside poe. it's a side story in 7 acts that you can chose to do to reach maps instead of the normal 10 acts story. every updates will work for both poe and poe 2. i assume it's gonna be like overwatch with ow2. they are not scrapping the original campaign with the release of poe 2 and it will kinda work like 'poe classic' i assume.
it's easier to market poe 2 than poe 4.0 when your game has a brand new engine and a complete rework of how skill gems work.
trailer :
its not a brand new engine tho its the same one as poe! the livestreme says its just more refined in that demo of PoE4.0/PoE 2. but most likely that type of refine ment will also make its way to poe1!
And yet it hits the same tone and looks more realistic than D4... Is this the hill you really wish to die on?
Cause why does D4's supposedly brand spanking new never used before or improved upon from any other game engine look so dated to an update to a prior game's engine?
Look, I hope D4 is a great game and I'm sure it will be as it is going to be quite a different game being an open world ARPG.
If you watched the stream you'd know that these improvements will find their way to PoE1 as they will share the same client. Obviously the PoE 2 campaign will benefit most from the graphics engine overhaul.
You do know outside of a few stash upgrades PoE has been and sounds like it will continue to be a visual MTX based game.
Meaning that you everyone will use the same client and benefit from the same purchases prior and future. All visual MTX will also be available for the new models in the PoE 2 campaign.
Can those of us (myself included) who bought D3 and it's expansion play D4 at no extra cost and carry over our seasonal earned visual achievements?
The one's in PoE will be available in PoE2.
You can argue engines all you want and that's truly up for debate as D4's engine looks like a darker skinned and more realistic upgrade to D3's engine which still is lacking against PoE 2.
I dont think that this is a good idea of a sequel. People love their daily usual stuff until they just dont or until something fresher (not really need to be better) arrives.
Time will tell but making the same game over and over has already happened and not with the best of the results.
PoE2 something tells me this is just a marketing ploy! im sure they could add a new class to the existing PoE since skills come from gems.......almost as if it trying to beat the wow factor of D4 and overwatch
dude they have a ton of new ascendancy in poe 2, we can wait a year we do not need no new class in current poe.
Graphics and feel of the game look alot better also and a complete new story .

Still buying D4 none the less.
I'm not particularly a PoE fan but I'll be dabbing into 2 when they release it (or open beta).
