Well, i love ESO, the gameplay is really nice, and the lootboxes doesnt bother me, since they are only cosmetics... but i dont play it for 2 reasons:
1º - Queueing system is always broken... even if they say they fixed it... they didnt... dungeons & battleground queues are the worst i ever seen in a game...
2º - What the hell im supose to do in that game... (TL;DL: No purpose on playing...)
A Expansion come out... i start playing... i do alot of quests... nice history, sexy... and now what? what's the end game content? There is nothing to progress... Whats the point of creating a house if it doesnt worth for nothing...
This game has so many potential for roleplay (thats the best part of a RPG..) but you dont do nothing ... (one time i post in the game forum for them to add a "card game" or "chess", or something like that in the taverns... hehe)
Cyrodill is quite nice... but i spend more time looking for a raid & running around than really doing something...
I Think that what the game is missing is some kind of "real competition" ... like team thing...
My suggestion to the game would be... add some kind of "guild wars" ...
Well, i know... it wont make sence once you can have 5 guilds per char...
i dont know...
And more shady monetization. The lootboxes killed it for me, I don't want to gamble for the coolest looking appearance items/mounts/pets.
This is the biggest problem with eso in my opinion and it's only getting worse.
besides lootboxes i hate the whole subs thing that gives you all the content.
i like to own my games and buying every single expac or dlc is so much money .. its a joke

It was a sub game that still hangs on to the sub as what they want from you despite it being optional. The way they do it if you sub they give you enough crowns per month to buy the DLC pacs with those crowns included in the sub. All except for the "chapters" which are a special kind of yearly DLC that can't be bought with crowns.
The sub benefits don't bother me in the least considering the game's sub roots.
The "special things called chapters that shall not be called DLCs" is a whole different story. I don't think anyone would gripe, once again considering the standard MMO sub + xpac model, if they were big things that happened every 2 or 3 years as in how WOW or FFXIV do it. But it's a yearly thing here and they're nowhere near as big, significant or game changing as xpacs are in the MMOs that still hang on to the sub + xpac model.

There is not one mmorpg that I know of that you own. That's never been the model. You never own them.
So you either pay with a cashshop in order to make the game more playable or you pay a sub.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
I'm excited for next chapter the necromancer was a great addition to the game. resurrecting my fallen comrades effortlessly brought a smile to my face.

There is of course no owning involved. There is a choice of two general approaches, with the cash shop yet another layer beyond that, which itself varies by one's chosen method to a degree, giving a slight benefit to subscribers.
One can choose to subscribe and get content access for the duration along with an unlimited crafting inventory or purchase content access piecemeal for the duration of the game's life with no additional monthly fee, but also no purchasable equivalent for unlimited crafting inventory.
This game and GW2 always felt directionless. It always felt that content added was just stuff to do in order to collect stuff, not actually add meaningful character progression.

Some don't like to sub, some hate loot boxes, some don't like paying for customization items. ESO gives gamers options as to how to support the game. Don't hate on it, just pick your way to help get new content. No MMO put out as much quality content as ESO. They deserve some love for that.
No game changes combat that often... maybe meaningless to you but for those of us who want new story and zones they’re great.. but how do you know so soon about the changes being made in an unannounced expansion? You have some secrets we don’t know about?
