I hear so many good things about this game and I've gone to their web page at least half a dozen times to look at it...
...then I see the warframes again and I'm just not impressed. In fact, I think they're all hideous. I commend them on their design choices and picking something that you just don't see elsewhere, but they went so alien with their designs that they completely alienated me.
I can't find a single one that I look at and think "Oh man, it'd be so cool to play a game looking like that!"
When it comes to art styles I'm living on another planet than they are.

I thought the same thing in the beginning, hell, I could hardly stomach to play a game with a lame tagline like, "ninjas play free." What's supposed to pull you in past the art style is the gameplay, and once acclimated, the designs eventually grow on you. Now that's not guaranteed, but I don't think most people who started the game after sinking a lifetime into it were interested in the game because of the art direction.
The basic aspect of the frames are just that, a base... The customization (fashionframe) is so huge you can make them your own. Also, the frames are only a part of it, they are suits you use to use some powers or others, classes if you prefer, that you can change anytime for different missions. You start to see the real core of the game, what's about and some other things with the first cinematic quest: Second Dream.
Soon they will change the starting quest and tutorial of the game, I suggest, taking the game is free, to try it them. You don't lose money to do it and the combat, weaponry, the diversity of the frames, the story, the lore, the movement and graphics (for a free to play) for me worth a try.
Also is one of the few games were the devs really love their baby and there isn't a publisher over them forcing things into play to drain money.
I recently came back to Warframe after not playing for years so I've got some fresh first-hand experience.
The first time I played it didn't really click and I shortly quit.
Now, I can't stop playing.
I like that the scifi setting is different than what you usually see.
There's lovely twisted/dark scifi stuff when you go through all the quests.
There's no frames which I think look awesome but I really appreciate the different alien style they have. Most of the fun comes from the abilities and the different ways each frame plays anyway. But the real juice is hunting and playing for that specific piece of loot you want.. whether it's a prime piece, a mod or a new weapon... kind of reminds of GW1 and hunting for skills.
The movement, shooting and melee are all top notch and so fluid. It takes some practise to get good but once you do it feels great to move around the world.
Also the game does a brilliant job of reminding you to stop rushing for the endgame and enjoy the journey... there's a bazillion different things to aim for.. so having short term aims and enjoying the gameplay is what I've been doing. It's working great for me so far.
Incredible content for a free to play game.
Also, can I just echo the sentiment how amazing the community is?
I don't know what it is (maybe the lack of PvP keeps out the competitive edgelords) but there's so many friendly people willing to help, no matter what you're asking for.
Digital Extremes have a very special game on their hands.
Digital Extremes are my favourite developers right now, what they did with Warframe is impressive. The engine performance are impressive, always fluid even at high speed and with dozens of NPCs on screen it rarely stutter. It’s also really polished, there are literally no bugs I can think of.
As someone pointed out, the Frames are not everyone cup of tea, but that’s the only downside I can find about this game.

But as the poster above comments: It grows on you. And now I find myself actually liking it, a lot.
Add to that that they have one of the best movement engines around, and then the graphics should be secondary.
In the end: gameplay > graphics
That is why I love a game like "Dungeon of the Endless".

I hope they will never go the Bethesda road...
Thank you for your time!
