Spin, spin, spin that agenda, right babs.

I think the word you are looking for is drools, droll means something else entirely :D

I like how you can see they are literally trying to break everything.

ssocs was not in before 3.8, so no surprise there.

I have a sneaking suspicion 3.8 is going to be much more stable and content is going to start to pop up a little faster. yay server client architecture.

They SHOULD try to break everything. That’s the purpose of Alpha testing ;-) And the video is useful documentation for bug reports.

Yeap there's something oddly satisfying in coming from the blackness of space and land on a planet and just realising that you have all of it to explore without the usual limitations.

It's even more bonkers when you look way up and see the space station you came from, or better, other planets or moons and knowing you can go there and visit them!

Yeah these space stations can be seen from the ground when the sun is right just as big landmarks on the planet can be noticed from orbit!

The level of scale is truly amazing!

These are awesome, and I'm a backer whose short on time, hence i don't play it really at all, but is there anything down on these planets?  I did fly to a moon once and there was nothing.  Are planets populated with anything "living" yet?

This is pretty interesting. I never really realized the vast scale of things going on in SC.

I would imagine in time they will get those planets populated and what not if they aren't already? I feel thats stuff that will come with dev time?

We'll come back here in early to mid 2030s

    It does.

The core reason the environments been the focus without that much addiction of content in, is mostly because the lack of SSOCS was overwhelming the server performance, forcing cuts on how much AI & other entities could exist per instance.

Those blockers now being surpassed it is to expect seeing more interest points type of content,be that an outpost, a shipwreck or a cave, that now started being populated with AI too.

Life forms will be added in patch 94875123985737
Life forms, as fauna part of the biomes is not currently on schedule.

Because SC is not the typical MMO where you go out to the game-world and kill stuff to level up, the majority of the work on life-forms will likely be for the sake of visuals, and the AI costs server resources so It's to see how they'll tackle that.

Babuinix do you work for Chris Roberts? You seem to go way beyond and above what the normal fanboi would for a game. To me the game doesn't look any better than No Man's Sky.

The one with several million more planets then SC.

With lifeforms I might add  :*

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Oh, I see you're one of the "more means better" type.
Quality > Quantity if you ask me.

No Man's Sky or Elite Dangerous can have their "infinite" universes with their "infinite content", didn't provide me with more fun than other games, SC in its unfinished state included.

And back to the point, SC's higher quality is obvious.

Aww I liked your post better before the edit.

And it was a jest, I play both and they are wildly different experiences. I wouldn’t call SCs way better though, just different. Obvious is in the eye of the beholder, for some it is obvious that SC is a scam for instance. Now how much value does that hold? Very little I would reckon.

LOL i was thinking the same thing. SC visuals are much more realistic from what I've seen comparing the 2 games. Not taking anything away from NMS, I am sure its a great game, just different approaches are graphics for sure.

I do find SC's approach better though, there's so many little things coming together to make them look immersive. They balanced what procedural generation gives them, with hand-craft and lore-driven planets.

So instead of relying on quantity using the procgen to create & populate the game-world, they let the artists draw at a planetary scale so the outcome is controlled and the result is great.

Microtech is the best example of that to date, and on an online game dare I say, as is it's not even the final form because of the missing cloud tech, and other visual stuff as global lightning still coming.

Yeah, they are doing a great job. Its also perfectly fine to prefer one over the other. I actually prefer the almost unfathomable scale of NMS and its infinite variables. But it doesn’t really matter, my point was you calling it obvious that SC did it better, which is an entirely different statement and one I certainly can’t agree with.
