This is one my favorite RPGs of all time but I find I'm getting too old to replay games I have played a few dozen times. Better graphics is not a draw for me. If they add some new content to the game, then yes I'm in.
2018-2019 - selling games in beta.. 2020 selling game remakes. You....people....I can’t .....
Given how old the game is, it makes sense. If I had a dollar for every person who complained (on this site no less) about old graphics or "it looks so 2002."
A lot of people won't touch old games. If they did a fresh coat of paint, sort of did what Square Enix does with their remakes, it would probably be a huge hit. Huge hit means more Star Wars games. I liked the recent one so I'd be up for more.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

I tired to play it recently on Origin. It's not just the ancient graphics it uses very unconventional (by modern standards) key bindings and other UI stuff. Those were great games and worth a remake.

Never played it during the time it was released. Wish I had. Have it on PC and its unplayable with the amount of bugs, crashes, only 4:3 support. The list goes on and on. The steam reviews are littered with complaints of folks who have bought it and can't play it.
That being said. I would 100% buy a remastered version of this game to finally see why everyone loved it so much. Even if it was just bug fixes and higher textures I'm in. I'd even pre-pay.

That's true, I think the controls (if memory served) weren't what I was used to. Probably why I gave it a break and subsequently never went back.
Same reason I couldn't get through Hexen. A friend had played it years ago, I thought I'd try it, but the controls were horrible.

Also, it's more than just graphics.
A lot of old games (like Gamecube and Wii era or older) look bad on modern televisions due to resolutions.
Sound quality is also an issue.
Game availability is a major issue, especially with cult classics that didn't sell all that well.
There's also a great degree of modern quality of life that can be injected into older games.

While the PC version had better graphics, everything else about it was a mess. It's what happens when you port a console to PC. The xbox version was overall much smoother. It was obvious that it wasn't originally intended to come out for PC.
We talking Resident Evil 2 remake style or Final Fantasy VII remake style? Because if it's like the remake style for RE2 then hell yes I want it. If it's like what square -enix did to FF7 no thanks.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.
I played KOTOR 1 ,was hyped but soon got real boring doing the same old .I think i made it about halfway then just never cared to play it any more.It was quite a long time ago so remember very little about it,just the 3 character setup and mostly hallways. I had to look it up,very surprised to see it was 2003,i would have guessed in the 90's since it seems like forever since i played it. Went to look for it in my archives display but couldn't find it but was cool to see i still have some old big floppy disks of some old games like Might n Magic and Sport of Kings and hard floppy of Duke Nukem ,have about a dozen or more old floppy disc games, thought they were long gone in the trash. Found some old Dos floppies,Windows for Workgroups, no Kotor though must have got scratched and tossed it. Honestly what are they going to do,swoosh swoosh,3 characters moving through hallways, what is going to be any different to warrant a remake?Just to see a modern looking Chewbacca?Game development now a days has had me so bored of gaming, devs are just so lazy in their work,i expect very little from games now a days, they all come off as Indie games now.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
The news is find and dandy and all that, but it begs a couple of questions of can the new Bioware really do it? And can they afford to wait until a 2023-24 release date.
I played through this 2019 the most recent time. I dunno if remake would make be buy it as I don't care about the graphics. If it's cheap and introduces more people to this amazing RPG, then go for it. I love the original 4 CD install. IMO it's one of the best RPGs ever made - every fan of either SW,RPGs or both should experience it at least once in their life.

When I played it back when it came out on PC I didn't give a shit about the technical problems. Those weren't even on the radar for me. Infact, I don't even now have problems with how it's controlled. It's not that difficult to be honest.
This is one of the few remakes that I would actually be extremely interested in buying and playing. Most of the rest hold little to no interest for me so far.
I bought KOTOR off of GOG and it was a nightmare to try to play on a modern PC.

So yes, I'm very pro remake and remaster.
playing on a window normally fix that

Because modern Bioware possesses a uniquely funny incompetence that is matched by only the Sonic team.
