the adjustable armrest height and adjustments seem to be nice, but chripes, the price is impressive too.

well and then there is ikea, selling markus for 80 euro ;)

I bought the Titan XL in November 2018. It is a great chair. Yes, it is pricey, but well worth the money. Very comfortable for long gaming/work sessions - it's firm, but that helps for 4+ hours of sitting. It has no lumbar pillow, as mentioned in the "Cons" section; however, please note that there is a knob to adjust the lumbar area - not as great as a pillow, but it works for me.

Better yet just raise your desk and stand - no need for a chair at all.

Gaming chairs = dont fall for this crap, you dont want to sit for hours straight it's not good for your health

    Yeah, ok Dad.

Hey guys, stuff is bad for you.  So i suggest you stop doing things.

There's nothing wrong with spending $479 for a nice office chair that will last you for many years.  It's not just about comfort the day you get it.  It's also about longevity.

Nice office chairs tend not to feel the need to put the word "gaming" in the name, though.  Calling it a "gaming" chair makes it sound like they're compensating for something, as though it's only suitable for light gaming use and not for heavier use.

The true professional chairs are the ones designed for people who are going to be at their desk nearly 8 hours per day for a job.  That's the category of product you want to look at if you want a nice computer chair, whether for gaming or otherwise.

Hey guys, stuff is bad for you.  So i suggest you stop doing things.

Go look it up yourself about sitting in a chair for 4 hours+

Find one medical study that will back up that it's good for you.

Derr.. stuff is bad for ya.. hurry durr.. stop doing things... really now?

That's all you have to come up with? Lol

How about stop doing dumb shit you know is not good for you - chairs that encourage lack of movement for long periods of time are not what you should be doing to your body.

Your health is worth more than anything, be better to yourself my dude

What I was getting at is, we all know this already.   I guess if you need to feel good about regurgitating the same stuff we've heard for years, then go ahead.

What's optimal is a mix of quite a bit of standing up and quite a bit of sitting down.  If you have a job where you're on your feet most of the day, then sitting down when you get home is fine.  It's only if you're sitting down most of the day at work or school or whatever that also sitting down most of the time at home is a problem.  And even then, sitting down most of the time is fine so long as you get up to stretch frequently.

Never buy a chair that has plastic caster holders. The wheels can be wood/steel/ or effing gold it will make no difference and will eventually break, for that price I would rather a welded steel caster system with steel wheels, if you are worried about marks on a floor, buy a cheap thick rubber floor mat to place the chair on. A ton cheaper than replacing a broken seating product right?

I agree longevity is a nice added feature but the chair still has to be good and i doubt any of these "COOL" chairs are any good.
I am the perfect person to judge chairs because i have very bad circulation through the legs and i have a constant bad back as well.
Obviously i am not sitting in every single chair to give a first hand review but i know what chairs do and what is bad and good or probably bad or probably good.
Arm rests area dead giveaway to being a cheap item or not and almost all of these 200-500 dollar gaming chairs look like assembly line stuff by child labor over seas.

I also need to see something, heck ANYTHING that gives an indication the chairs are designed to allow for good circulation through the legs.We really should just be honest here, these chairs are sold for the "cool "feature way more than anything the chair has to offer.

We don't like high-back chairs...I don't like the 5-spindle bases because I like to tuck my legs under my chair. So, we usually just get the el cheapo pleather dinning room chairs with just 4 casters on the legs...and they last for years.

If I speak at one constant volume
    At one constant pitch
At one constant rhythm right into your ear
    you still won't hear

Pointing out that the product encourages unhealthy habits is not the same as looking down on other people.

Standing all day is bad for your feet , so in the end you're still just trading your personal pref from someone elses everything is bad for you in excess "again you are still just preeching your taste over someone elses trying to be the Paragon of health and fitness"
.dude, i see you in almost every one of these threads and i'de prob say 90% of your comments are belittling condescending or just flat out toxic so lol

I am a slim build and 6' 0". I spent 6-8 hours a day at my computer and the Titan is the best chair I have ever owned. It's not cushy soft and intentionally so. It is very comfortable.

    Cringe.

Gotta write something to get that post count up I guess, not to mention purposely stating opposing opinions in every thread to look unique.

I agree, his clear need and desperation for attention is laughably pathetic, I guess the 22k posts says it all. Shame that he thinks nobody can see through his pretentious comments

No lumbal support. Your lower back will suffer as with any wannabe gaming chair of this type.
The trick is NOT to sit for too long and spare yourself the pain.
But if you need to you are way better with an ergonomic chair than any of these heavy monster fake leather chairs. And some can be found for less than 500$. Way less.

No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

This chair definitely has lumbar support. It's built in and can be adjusted using a knob on the side.

ugh no. If you are sitting in that thing you are going to do yourself an injury before too long.

Not saying people should buy a gaming chair but buying something that has cushion and is adjustable to your body with lumbar support is a better way to go.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has asked "what makes this chair a gaming chair".  That phrase was used quite frequently in the article.  Does it have built-in speakers?  Does it have a tactile feedback feature?  Does it have a convenient snack and refrigerated storage areas for the most important ergonomic factors in gaming -- food?  (We're talking about an XL chair, having been an XL person, you don't get that way without food).

Most office chairs are rated at 150 lbs capacity.  Even Tolkien elves tend to weigh more.  Sadly, even XL chairs are only rated at 250 lbs.  If you're an NFL lineman (or have consumed one recently), that's not really gonna cut it.

The XL chair is a gimmick.  It's only purpose is to justify a higher price for a properly engineered chair.  An XL gaming chair is worse than a gimmick -- it's pure marketing.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
