There is a few words in that post that made me laugh and those words were >>>hard work.
IDK who is saying devs are putting in hard work but please direct me to this game built around hard work? There are a few out there but not many.
I wouldn't call a CONSUMER a brat for expecting a good,no a VERY good product.
Would you buy a half assed built house and just say...except it because a lot of hard work went into building it?I guess it comes down to having some knowledge in game design or not, because if not, everything looks amazing.
True but short story.I once showed a close friend a few things on game design and how people cheat and how simple some designs really are.He was actually bummed out and wished i never showed him because he said it ruined his vision of gaming and how they were made.
MOST games are using a few simple concepts and then it is a matter of how big they make the game with those simple concepts.Simply making a game bigger with more land mass and more quests does not make it a better game, just a bigger low quality game.
I know you won't answer, but out of curiosity how many games have you developed?

Some of the very greatest zen developers have never even developed a game ...
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
Never ever was a game released that was fully polished and enjoyable and never will. All those games had big problems at start , but had much serious gamers at the time to understand and be patient.... From Diablo 2, Skyrim, CoD , Daoc , and many other games even WoW had major problems... Man that game was so charming that it kept it alive even now a days. And it had strange/perfect timing to release it and to become most played mmo today.. But only because ppl sticked around.. ! Other mmos died or are dying. Except Gw2, FF.. If people were supporting games more then just trying to give a rating just to prove something or to try to call customer service to complain about his life, because his life is fcked and and no one gives fck about you... (Not talking about wc 3 re hhhhhh)
Wait, what? Games get released all the time that are polished day 1. Just to name a few that started as polished in the last few years: God of War, Spiderman PS4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Doom 2016, The Outer Worlds, and The Witcher 3 to name a few.
Its boring, theres no game to it, it looks great but its completely linear. I cant conceive how they could polish this turd to be a success now.
People said stuff similar to Final Fantasy XIV when it first released. That game had so many issues with it's first release that it pretty much died off. Once it came back as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn it was a massive hit and still is. So, if the game is remade well enough that it could actually work.
If the new people behind it actually care about the game they could make it a big hit.
I played this way later than others, and I gave it a chance. The gameplay is actually really tight, and the different abilities are really cool. There's a lot going for it. And the ability to fly over everything and go underwater is impressive. There's no other game that pulls these things off so seamlessly.
The problem is that loading took forever, you can't use ps4 rest mode to get into and out of the game quickly. You lose connection all the time. Moving around town and talking to NPCs takes forever, and I felt almost no compulsion to team up with others. The story was okay, but it didn't seem to progress logically.
Same here, I got my money's worth of play out of it when it first came out and while it was far from perfect, I did like the combat and flight mechanics and didn't feel cheated when I got to the end..there have been worse things out there. I also give them credit for owning their error and at least trying to fix things..not many companies will say that even after the game get's unplugged.
Pretty fun mechanics in flying, skills, and shooting. There was just no reason to return after I finished main story line. Looking forward to returning once they made these changes.
I only played the demo, but 2 things were clear after just few hours of playing. 1. Core gameplay is pretty solid and fun. 2. Literally everything else is massive steaming shite. There have been quite a lot of terrible AAA games lately, but Anthem is the one exception I would allow to be remade for a second chance.
FF 14 has shown clearly how it can be done. Let's hope (and my guess is not) that the Devs have/take that time to make it "right". They just have to take a look what FF14 did.
So my concern is they had the time but not the experience. Now they have the experience, but people blamed EA for putting pressure on Bioware. EA is still the parent company so they're still going to have that pressure that apparently tanked the game?
I'm not trying to be a naysayer, I'm genuinely interested in seeing this be the next FF14 (In that it flops as a release, gets reinvented and as successful as a result) but they're going to have to redesign the architecture of the game to make the meaningful changes they want (I'd assume, otherwise why overhaul it if they could just implement the changes).
Honestly, I'm surprised EA are willing to let them do this after the initial clownfiesta.
Definitely needs the overhaul. It could have been a great game if they had more time for it and didn't have EA forcing it out.
Just lke WAR, it did actually have all the time in the world, it's just that the upper management screwed it up with bad planning etc.
Regardless, it deserves a remake because it truly does have potential.
So the assumption this time around is that they've learned their lessons from the initial release, tightened up their weaknesses (Planning etc) and EA is willing to let them be for as long as they need it.
At least in FF14's case (The only other case I can think of in comparison) the developing company was also the publishing company and so had the control. It's a close comparison but there's still a significant difference between the developer and the publisher which almost always causes problems.
I don't like being the naysayer here, but I'm kind of calling the shot now, as arrogant as that may be.
When it comes to Bioware and any other older company like Blizzard.
All this main problem is us Humans.. All around the world who are
so fcking spoiled... Pointing at newest bioware and Blizzard games..
Who we are to judge or rate people who gave us unforgettable life experiences.
Who are this people weak and not knowing and appreciate what is life and hard work..this companies are the ones who gave you the experience no one will..
Mass effect trilogy will never happen again because of u you humans..
Andromeda had less bugs then ME trilogy and all bioware had always the same problem when it comes to that ... But their games had something none will ever happen..Just because idiot humans are cheap shit and so spoiled that they expected the game will be so smooth.. Like in dreams..
But Mass Effect Andromeda was a great thing for new comers that's how thing goes same as Starwars ..
It was bit more focused to younger crowd but that's exactly what the game needs ! and the game had less fckignbugs then all 3 games together ! shame on you humans ! idiotic brats !
And this poor people had to make Anthem..
To give us something.. yes they gave us a briliant game that u will never fckign see.. and yes it had its flaws major ones but didnt need it internet terror neither ME A . They just needed less spoiled Humans and Patients for the greatest games you will ever experience in 2010s
who are I?
the consummer, who don't like the crap they are working on, and no i'm not worried about "hurting" they feelings, is this sh!t fear of hurting they feelings who prevent then to work right and make good.
I never had problem with ME games with bugs, using then from the cd, andromeda even patched had bugs, only on that you see a huge drop of quality
and again theya re not poor, they are fucking lazy who wanted to ride they old fame without deserving it.
remember you need only ONE mistake to tarnish your reputation for your life, and need to work your whole life to prove you deserve what you have and had, expecting anything less is living in denial
No matter how good their intentions or how good the PR, EA are simply incapable of producing good games or of letting their owned studios produce good games. Average games, sure, they've got a ton of them. But good? Nope. Not for my personal tastes, every EA game I've ever played (apart from the skate series...) has left me disappointed.
Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman
I hate to hear this. We SWTOR players have waited years for the devs to complete the anthem stuff only to see, they do it again, when finally SWTOR could get some love. This does not build up any love for anthem. Hopefully after this time it dies completely.

And Final Fantasy 14. Now there is a rags to riches story.
