Gut Out!
Wait...wait..you want Bethesda to tell you that they won't screw up another IP and their own invented IP? To quote Todd Howard, "It just works." Is that a good enough statement that they wom't screw up ES like they did Fallout?
Bethesda hasn't been a good company since Morrowind, maybe Oblivion but that's pushing it. Fallout 3 was meh, Fallout 4 was trash, 76 is trash, New Vegas was made by Obsidian with former Fallout 1 and 2 devs and was a unique story that was rushed due to the lopsided contract from Bethesda. Not sure when Bethesda will wake up and realize they're shitting on their fans with all these bad products.

heh.. they are promoting fallout 76, they should just sweep it under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist, and just promote other stuffs.
What many haters fail to realize is there is a surprisingly large player base for FO76, especially on consoles where issues faced by PC users are far less pronounced.
I'm in a guild with chapters across 3 platforms, with only a small number (30 or so) on the PC with the remaining 300+ split 40/60 between XBox /PS4.
Bethesda makes money from the game, how much, who can say, but apparently enough to deliver an expansion.

I'm goign to have to disagree with that. Especially because Skyrim is better than Oblivion "Sort of." they are different games in some ways.
What did they really mess up. One game. That apparently some people find fun even with the warts.
And considering I still play all the Elder Scrolls games (dabbling in Daggerfall Unity) That means I loaded up one of the Elder Scrolls games in the past few days over anything new that has come out. That's quite an accomplishment after all these years.
I take it one game at a time. I strongly suspect that the new Elder Scrolls game will be along the same lines as the others. Which is both good and bad. But when one doesn't expect perfection and can just enjoy the good despite the bad then one can have a good time. Otherwise there aren't that many games that are truly good.
I can find something wrong with most every game I've played. If I want to be that guy.

Bethesda should get Obsidian to make the games for them if they want them to be good, clearly Obsidian have a much better grasp of gripping dialogue and overall story. I will play ES6, I have no doubt, but I can't really say I'm looking forward. Skyrim was ok in the way it expanded lore in general, but a lot of the stories sort of followed a similar structure to one another which did make them pretty predictable.

I think the issue is that they really aren't about "story."
They are about exploration and discovery. the stories are ok to good. Or, if one is fine with standard fantasy stories then sure, there could be some great ones.
Then again is there a video game with a "great" story? I don't know of a one.
hmmm not true, a game like "The Last of Us" has a great story or at least a great way of delivering it.

Bethesda needs to dump the cash shops from all current and future games. Make all games Mod friendly and don’t charge for it.
Kill FO76.
Make Bethesda great again.
Err, yeah, right. What would be their motivation for doing such?
Please explain why you believe these moves would generate more revenues, because I'm just not seeing the business case for it.
Now, if you said stop releasing bug filled pieces of shit I might have to agree with you.....
Well they used to do it up until Fallout 4, until they started turning player made Mods into paid DLC.
They did pretty good, since they became one of the biggest Publisher/Developers, just by selling (buggy) games.
I don’t mind the bugs actually, I lived with Bethesda bugs since Daggerfall. Bugs are their trademark.
But cash shops it’s a step too far because it means they will release games with less features/content which then will sell through DLCs. And obviously Mods needs to stay free, as their buggy games rely on them.
If they go for greed again like they did with FO76, they will kill the brand.

Yes, they will have more paid dlc. They are a company and one that will plan on making as much money as they can. That's always a given.
there is a game called Outward made by a very small developer. The president (or whatever his title is) said that it was touch and go for a long time and Outward was one of their best sellers. They are now putting out a DLC. I just saw a post where someone said that he DLC should be free.
Granted, difference between small and large company but there are always going to be people who don't want to pay for content. To that point, you say that they aren't going to put content in and just sell it piecemeal. Except their games have been getting bigger and bigger. Well, the single player games, I can't comment on Fallout 76.
Just don't buy the dlc. And, given the little we've seen of the next Elder Scrolls game, it seems like they want to top Skyrim as far as spectacle.
As long as they still allow players to create free mods I don't see any issues. And if it's bad then refund and move on.

I am ok with Content DLCs, I an not ok with DLCs made by stealing player made Mods, or DLCs which add features that were supposed to be there at launch.
For example, ESO DLCs are fine, because they add content to the game, they don’t sell features which were supposed to be available at launch for free.
FO76 is the perfect example of what happens when you release a barebones product which you hope to flesh out with paid DLCs, and the cash shop.
Unfortunately the game bombed so hard that they are forced to release content for free to just keep it going.

For me, it depends on what that player made mod is. If someone releases an armor set that is from one of the earlier games then I'm ok with Bethesda doing the same. It's their property, their assets, they should be able to do with them what they want.
Players don't like it then download the player version.
And players create mods and don't read the agreement which of course makes sense.
so for example:
"You automatically grant to Bethesda Softworks the irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free, sublicensable right and license under all applicable copyrights and intellectual property rights laws to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, perform, display, distribute and otherwise exploit and/or dispose of the New Materials (or any part of the New Materials) in any way Bethesda Softworks, or its respective designee(s), sees fit."
I'm a big believer in "know what you are getting into." This way there are no surprises.
