Ooops. Looks like they were caught being misleading on purpose. No doubt about it.

Maybe Arizona should have asked Rhode Island for their opinion.

Are you referring to Rhode Island tax payer money going to 38 Studios for there RPG release of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning?

IDK the exact parameter's of these incentives but i imagine has to o with hiring locals, people from Arizona. This is why the mention of..."MANY of the 160 plan to relocate to Arizona".IMO that number is grossly represented and this business is duping AZ state.

Looking at the game my thought was maybe 5 people working on the game, there is no way 160 are working on this game.

That Kingdom of Amalur ordeal cannot be compared to any kind of modern, recent new dev studio. The simple of it is that Curt Schilling put up a large sum of his own personal finance's to fund the game.IMO he was duped by the guy whom he left in charge of his finance's and NOT a case of Curt trying to scam anyone.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

From what I can tell, this studio has 6 years in development with this game so far...no playable demo + no released games = no income. Until this studio makes and releases an actual game, shows profit from it and a steady income stream, this is a joke and a disgrace to all Indie Studios working hard to make a place in the game industry.

I worked on the game and I can tell you both are 100% correct. Except for the fact that there ARE 160+ 'working' on it. The owner vultures onto recent grads from Full Sail. These people work on the project maybe a few months until they can't handle the situation any longer. If you look at any of the promotional material it isn't hard to figure out it is the same content repeated over and over again without updates.

And indie developers wonder why people have trust issues with them.

A company created a badly worded press release, now they're trying to change the information after it was released?  It sounds like they really should have proofread their own document before it was released.  Didn't.  Misleading statement issued.  Hullabaloo ensues.  Where have we seen this before?
